Martin Harris - Moderator
If it pushes air out of the back you're in business! ...but I suspect what you want to know is how to change the direction if it doesn't - a simple matter of swapping any 2 of the 3 wires going to the speed controller. Dave Rose
I too am a bit lost on this inasmuch as I am looking for an EDF fan and motor to buy and i see some Lander units are described as "Reverse rotor" and some are not. If I buy a Reverse rotor unit what does it mean? Until I saw this I assumed as above , i.e. if it was blowing the wrong way then i just reverse some wires> But now this phrase has me a little confused. Please enlighten me TIA
John Privett
I'll put my neck on the block and speculate... If you were building a model with two EDFs - say an A10 - then you might want them to rotate in opposite directions to cancel out the torque. But maybe somebody has a better answer! Bill_B
Spot on answer John, but for a single jet it doesn't matter if the fan rotates clock, or anticlockwise as long as the thrust is rearwards!
