johnny k
hi to all. well never posted anything on the t,internet and this is completely new to me. the reason being am terrible for models and kits so as i walked past oxfam in town yesterday this big box in the window was a flair vintage black magic kit. Mr impulsive thought i will have that asked if it was complete as sealed down. answer was yes parted with the queens money and got footed it to the pub to look what i had bought. excited went through it and thought this looks tough! even more so as i ferreted through i found one or two tincywincy omissions! the plans and instructions. the contents all sealed and balsa still bound together. so the big question is am i daft starting such a project and where do i get plans and instructions. saw one set just sold on ebay but now struggling. any help greatly appreciated . Codename-John
Google is your friend, a quick search brings up this thread on RCGroups forum, if you scroll to the post by "vintage 1" and click where it says Black Magic in bold, open the files it will download and he`s made a plan and instructions etc to print out
Bob Cotsford
Might be worth giving Flair a phone call, explaining the situation and asking if they could supply a plan. That way you will be sure that the plan actually matches the kit of parts. I don't know about the Black Magic but pleanty of other models have been kitted in a variety of slightly different versions - fuselage width increased to fit radio, different spars, different dihedral etc.. Panther
LOL I saw one kit advertised on the web and the plans were sold seperately!! AND they were nearly as much as the kit. Beat that. BTW. Welcome John. Edited By Panther on 06/03/2013 12:32:

bouncebounce crunch
JohnnyK, I have never built a kit without a plan or some form of instruction, but most of the kits i have built were kitted before laser, all die cut or printed balsa so a little harder than todays offerings. you really need to buy a plan for the kit and hopefully one of the guys that are ready to get the special birthday card from the Queen can get it to you cheaply. good luck and you are on the best modelling website. bbc in Oz
John Payne
Hi Jon, if you have a look on this forum you should find my build thread of the black magic from the plan. It may help on some of the details. The motor for this is to be a twin diesel (which still isn't finished, but I live in hope.......) so the front is a little different, but it should be largely the same. Good luck with the build. Cheers, John.
Pete B
Hi Jonathan, Check your PM's (My Messages in the top left box) - I sent you one the day you posted. The Black Magic build threads on this forum can be found here. Plenty of useful tips there. If no-one can offer anything sooner, I'm coming back to the UK next week and could copy my plan and instructions (it's already a copy as I had the same problem!) and get them off to you.
