Delta Whiskey
and will they and subsequent spares be available in the UK warehouse.......ummmm me thinks not for sometime ! Edited By Delta Whiskey on 19/03/2013 21:11:
Colin Leighfield
That's not half bad though is it? The Mk24 (and 22) might be the best of all the Spitfires to model, because of the larger tailplane and fin from the Spiteful. I wonder if they thought about having a go at doing the five blade propeller?! I've been trying to reduce the fleet rather than increase it, but I don't think I could resist this one. It wouldn't be hard to turn it into a Seafire FR47 either, very attractive.
Trevor Crook
I want one! I've got the Durafly T28 and it's great. The warbirds are all around £100 so I expect the Spit to be similar. Good to see a late mark modelled, and looking pretty accurate. Apparently they tried a 5-blade prop, but it wasn't practical. The 4-blade may not be scale but it looks the part to most people. Trevor Crook
Colin, didn't the Seafire have a contra-rotating prop? That would make an interesting little project!
Colin Leighfield
Quite right Trevor, I'll live with the prop!
Colin Leighfield
It did Trevor, a 6 blade. Have a look on YouTube, "Seafire FR47, The One and Only" and prepare to be blown away. There's one restored and flying in the USA and it's something else.

Edited By Delta Whiskey on 19/03/2013 21:11:56 Sorry to say DW, but you are wrong. HobbyKing announced today that spares will be available from all warehouses tomorrow 22 March to coincide with the launch. I got this from Stuart (our own Propagandi). Gavin Mack
Spitfires on HK website
scott cuppello
I discounted the 5 blade prop on the grounds of cost/efficiency.......it simply wasn't worth adding $5 to the cost of the model for an extra blade on the prop, especially when it would be not very efficient anyway. Josip Vrandecic -Mes
Hi Eamon, very nice flyer....without any objections....there is a time that everyone can fly Spit.....and can be placed in a small car... Yes Josip, it will allow everyone to experience the joy of flying a Spitfire. Only hope it will fit in my Classic Mini.
Colin Leighfield
Scott, fully understand your decision on the prop, I just get carried away sometime. ( I probably should be)!
scott cuppello
No worries at all Colin......just explaining the decision, I can understand somebody being a little puzzled when we went to so much trouble with the rest of the model.

stuey
I have read reports that the price has gone up between the Hobbyking checkout and paypal. I did try this and found the same, so stopped at that point. Any ideas why from the Hobbyking chaps?
WolstonFlyer
StueyPaypal use a different (more up to date possibly) exchange rate than the conversion to pounds on the HK website.I always use the US dollars price on HK and convert it to pounds using a currency exchange website before ordering from HK and seeing the paypal conversion to pounds. Codename-John
Plus Paypal adds a percentage on to exchange it aswell
stuey
I see, so you are not paying in Sterling even if you order through the UK warehouse. Would be nice to actually see the price properly without having to use converters etc. Thanks for the info.
Codename-John
The UK warehouse is just a distribution centre really Stuey, your still buying it through the same HobbyKing account as you would from Hong Kong, which is based wherever, they just send it to you from UK is all. I think even if you went to pick it up from the warehouse you cannot buy it from there, you still have to make the purchase over tinternet Edited By Codename-John on 23/03/2013 15:53:
Colin Leighfield
Mine is costing £117-50 including carriage, if it's as good as it looks I think that's good value.
