Simon Chaddock
Perhaps there should be a poll. "When was the last time one of your LiPos burst into flames all by itself?" Last week, last month, last year, never.
Reno Racer
easy answer to that one. never. only had one lipo fire, following a nose in crash of a gws p-40 about 8 years ago.
Barrie Dav 2
If all your lipos are stored together, for instance in an old ammo box, and one goes on fire what do you think would happen to all the others in the box!! Quite a sight I would think... Handled correctly, as has been stressed so many times, these batteries should present no problem. OK, store them outside of the main house if you like, keep a space between them, belt and braces but I think that we're becoming a bit paranoid. Have many forumites had a fire? If so please post all the details.

Reno Racer
Alan, That lead sticking out of the left hand side of your first picture, with the deans connector on; did you close the box trapping a lead and causing a short?
Alan Randall
No, that was when I closed the lid to take the photo. The case then got emptied into a tin box after disposing of the burn't lipos, then I threw the case. All are now stores in charge bags in a steel case. The thing that lasted longest was the smell. Mark R
As has already been said....Ammo boxes...and for added "safety" batteries in Lipo safe battery sacks.
john melia 1
well to be honest i would have thought if a 50 cal ammo box is safe for ...... well 50 cal rounds , it would be safe for lipo's as long as they are stored seperately inside the ammo box

Alan - can you be absolutely CERTAIN 100% that the packs had not been incorrectly charged, or perhaps physically damaged/ impacted etc in some way? Ausferret
The method I use to contain the LiPos when charging is inside a Pyrex oven dish with lid. Relatively cheap, fire/high temperature proof and they remain visible whilst charging.

Chuck Plains
I can't see ma spending £80/£100 on a storage box when you can pick something suitable at a carboot sale or recycling centre. My Li-po storage box. My regular use Li-po storage/charging bags
