Gavin Morrison
Can anybody help me with this one? I have a Cessna 177 (Old Cardinal 1.7m span ABS kit - prior to ThunderTiger take over) and need to replace the nylon wing bolts as the threads have seen better days. Unfortunately Cardinal used M7 x 65mm wing bolts in the kit. - Trying to buy any M7 nylon bolts/screws nowdays seems to be impossible. Does anybody know where I might be able to buy M7 nylon screw or bolts? I've thought about tapping out the nuts to M8 but I don't think the plastic nut retainer in the fuselage could stand the rotational strain and would break out. So any help would be much appreciated. Erfolg
Could you not use a M7 steel bolt. If you are concerned about its strength, you could partially saw through the bolt near or at the head.
