Wiltshire Flyer
Below are some pics of my build, has taken just under 4 weeks so far, doing about 2 hours a night when the kiddies are in bed

Wiltshire Flyer
They are not in order but you get the idea.
Rich too
Nice! A proper built up structure, you don't see many trainers like that these days.. Good luck with it..
Wiltshire Flyer
Thx Rich, I found the kit in the store room of an ex model shop now being used for something else. Hasn't been a shop for a few years im told, and the current occupier was glad to get rid of a few kits n bits at a great discount! So I'm not sure how old the kit is, it is amazingly delicate for a trainer compared to modern standards! I dont need a trainer as I have some experience but I want it as a nice summer evening easy fly

Wiltshire Flyer
Thx for the info percy! I'm looking forward to flying it all the more now Thx bill, oh and that's no hamster, it's our pampered rabbit! Don't worry she's not out when the model is! Lol
David Davis
I'm sure it will fly beautifully WF. Which engine are you going to fit? I see that Pegasus Models are still listing the kit at £79 which I think pretty reasonable.
Wiltshire Flyer
Hi david, not set on engine yet, will prob go for a 25. I think I got my kit for about 40(ish). It's the very distinctive lines of the model that I took a shine to, some parts of the build method seem a little quirky to me but I guess it's all part of the Sig charm! Wiltshire Flyer
Bit more done!
David Davis
A small four-stroke would be nice if funds permit.
Wiltshire Flyer
Funds very much dictate the choices I have David, I will have to wait and see how it goes I bought my first Spektrum tx/rx the other week, it's a DX5e. I know it's quite a basic one but I dont need model memories etc... I shall see how I get on with it!

cymaz
Lovely neat work. What's the spare piece of balsa on the table for?
David Davis
I think it's the rudder!
Wiltshire Flyer
Thanke cymaz the "spare" balsa is the elevator lol
Wiltshire Flyer
Well, covered the wing tonight. Have to say I messed up a bit with the checked pattern... but if you squint you dont see it The blue is textured solartex the check is profilm. Not used either before as I have always used solarfilm... profilm is o.k.. but solartex is amazing! Does just as you ask of it with no grumbles and gives a fantastic finish! Profilm for me is not as pliable as solarfilm. Will do the rest shortly, a few mistakes but I like the way it looks so far.

Wiltshire Flyer
Thanks john Well, tail and surfaces now fixed in place. Only things left to do are fit windscreen, clean up covering cut away to fix the tail surfaces and source a little 25! She is up on her legs now.
