john stones 1 - Moderator
hello steve how many events are you likely to have in total and are they country wide
Steve Dunning
Probably six at the moment. Could be countrywide but at present, all north of Barkston. Just need offers from southern clubs/fliers.
Bob Cotsford
No news or offers from Sleap yet Steve? I'd put it to our committee but our club field would struggle to host an event, especially as everything has to be noise tested to 80dBa in accordance with the planning permission. Steve Dunning
Had a phone call from Alf Tunncliffe today and the dates for the Festival of Flight event are the 7 and 8 June, with our space on the runway being available for the Saturday (7th) as per 2013. Another one for your diary folks!

Martyn K
Is that a BMFA 'B' (or better) Flyers only Steve? Martyn
Steve Dunning
As it is a public display I'm afraid it is only open to 'B' certificate fliers. Steve

Bob Cotsford
I've just realised that the Retford do is the weekend I get back from the RCHotel. That could make things awkward.
Steve Dunning
I fully understand Bob, no probs. At least there are quite a few to go to this year, another one likely in July, just needs to be confirmed. Steve
David Ashby - Moderator
Steve or Martyn, Can you send me a PM with the dates and venues, any other details you can think of too, and I'll add them to the mag' events listing.
Steve Dunning
You've read my mind David, I'll formulate a list for you. Thanks for the reminder. Steve
Nigel Armstrong
I hope to attend one or two events with my Phoenix 7. Just about got it built but work keeps getting in the way at the moment. No issues with the build quality at all. Fitted an OS 65 AX in the engine bay and 4 Futaba digitals should look after the main control surfaces OK. All going well it should be test flown in the next few weeks.
Hangar 9 nut
Hi Nigel nice to see someone else has a Pheonix 7 I have JR servos and OS 55ax on a pipe rom airs for the retracts haven't flown it yet waiting for the weather to break is the 65ax sam crankcase size as th 55ax? Nigel Armstrong
Hi. No the 65 has the same frame size as the old 61fx. I am hoping to use the standard silencer rather than a tuned pipe. My thinking is its less to put together at the field. My model will also have a fixed gear set up as I fly of short grass but the field is quite uneven. I will let you all know when the model has flown.
Hangar 9 nut
That would be good, I just need my field to dry out then I can fly mine!
Bill Michie
Heads-up guys................. re Barkston events: I've just seen on GBRCAA website, two Pattern events having to be cancelled, as "the licence has been withdrawn for casual users..............."; this apparently includes the F of F event 7-8th June but not the Nationals in Sept; but "may" affect our Retro Nats. Pls can the "powers that be" have a lookie as it may well affect our calendar. Ta. Bill
