Tony Bennett
i like the tabbed construction that dylan does, makes life so much easier and the bits just fly together. ok the sheeting and finishing takes months, but the bare frame goes together in a few days. going to be a nice model Colin. Dylan Reynolds LaserCraft Services
Was a pleasure meeting you as well Colin, I really hope you enjoy the model, any problems, just shout and we'll sort it out.
Colin Leighfield
Thanks Tony. It was great to meet you and see your amazing handiwork. Hang in there mate! Dylan. Thank you. I'll get my head around it when I get back, I think it's going to be very good. If you have got a 3D graphic of the fuselage as you finalised the design, that could help me speed up the process of working out what goes where! Back home on 09 July. Colin Leighfield
I've made a start on gluing this together. It's quick to do, the slowest part is making sure where it all goes. This is one of three current projects. now that I've got the Barnstormer flying I want to finish off the Seafang after the latest frustration with the snapped motor shaft. I've got the replacement from 4Max and will have that fitted tomorrow, so the priority is to get this finished. However, I've got some time during these next two weeks and hope to make some real progress.

Colin Leighfield
Hi Tony. About time eh! Can I ask what wing joiner tubes you are using on the Shackleton? It looks as though the hole diameters Dylan has put into the wing and tailplane ribs on this one are respectively 12.5 and 10mm.

Colin Leighfield
My wife says I'm an idiot John. However, I will see if can do this. With the Chipmunk build starting in October I will definitely not be going for any mass builds this time, I've definitely been badly distracted and I need to do more flying. Colin Leighfield
Thanks Tony, I'll try B&Q. Andrew, desperately! I'm semi-retired now so I've got a bit more time, though still not enough!
Colin Leighfield
Done a bit more on this today, following some help from Dylan I realised that I'd started wrong, so had to unglue some bits and start again, but I think I've got it now so should move on reasonably quickly. Also made some progress on the Seafang. On top of managing to fly yesterday with three models including the Barnstormer, I might be getting somewhere. Colin Leighfield
I'm still in the early stages with this but I'm starting to get my head around it, a couple of teething troubles caused me to have to unglue and start again in a couple of places, but I think it's right now. Colin Leighfield
It is John, Dylan knows his stuff. There's a lot to do though and I have a number of things to work out. It should be worth the trouble though.

Colin Leighfield
Hi Dylan. I made the mistake of putting a number of pictures together on a single posting with a question and I think it's disappeared! I've re-sent the pictures separately, but they're the ones in the thread above. I'll send you a PM now.
Colin Leighfield
Got some more done tonight. I drew around the half frame while I could still lay it flat. I can use this to start drawing up the fuselage scale detail. Then I started cutting the 6x3mm stringers from balsa sheet and built up the tail end. I want to get the stringers down the left side to lock it straight before I build up the right side, which should be fairly quick now that I've got the hang of it. I'm thinking of buying 2mm balsa to do the sheeting, I think that's Danny Fenton's recommendation.
