Steve Dunning
Paul Bardoe has been in touch to say that the above club is extremely keen for us to hold an event at their club which comprises both tarmac and grass strips. Initially they would like some dates for them to consider and then come back to us. I would suggest: 10th August (2 weeks before Nats) 7th September 21st September 28th September Let me know what you all think' Steve
Bob Cotsford
Greenacres fly-in is the 9th/10 of August so I'm not keen on that weekend.
Bob Cotsford
ps - is this aimed at retro or aerobatics? If retro I can add an old-style Panic to the mix!
Martyn K
Hi Steve 28th September would be best for me - I cant do the 10th August, or 7th and 21st September (Holidays and a Spider workshop).. BW Martyn
Steve Dunning
Looking at the above, I reckon we should have an end of season 'bash' (excuse the term!) and suggest the 28th September to the club. BTW Bob, bring along the Panic, I fancy bringing along the Stratos delta from HP. Just test flown it and very impressed. Good one piece model and easy to put in the car. Steve Dunning
The 28th September is now confirmed with the club. It should form a good end to the season. Edited By Steve Dunning on 07/07/2014 11:19:

Martin Harris - Moderator
As far as I'm aware the flying season stops on the 24th of December and the new one starts on the 26th. I have it on good authority that if I even dared to think about flying on the 25th my intestines would be recycled into sock suspenders... graeme jones
So you can't fly your Xmas present till Boxing Day? Shocking. Graeme
Steve Dunning
There may be another one in October back at Retford. End of season, how three words promotes such feedback LOL! No, don't stop flying, it's just that the weather is a bit more of a lottery later in the year.

Steve Dunning
Just bringing this thread back to the fore as Sunday is coming up fast. Weather is looking OK and the club are looking forward to our visit. Just one point, no barbecue so you'll have to bring your own refreshments, no problem. Some different models due to be on show so come along and have a fly along with the usual banter that prevails at these meetings. Looking forward to it, I hope you all are too. Steve PS there will be a raffle with prizes sponsored by OPTIFUEL. Edited By Steve Dunning on 24/09/2014 09:39:

Bob Cotsford
Altair, Tornado, Bullet, Panic, Mustfire are all ready to go - if they will all fit in the car Is SY4 1HD the correct postcode? Martyn K
Here you go... SatNav co-ordinates 52.747571 (N), -2.855067 (W) Martyn
Bob Cotsford
I saw that Martyn, but while I know how to put a postcode into my TomTom, I have no idea how or where to enter coordinates
Martyn K
I have a TomTom XXL Menu Navigate to Next Page (-> ) Select Latitude Longitude Then simply type in the numbers selecting N > OK The the Long and E/W accordingly > OK (On the TomTom, you enter a W for west - other systems expect a negative number for West) My last TomTom was the same. I dont think they have changed that much Edited By Martyn K on 24/09/2014 13:30:
Bob Cotsford
The Rider is the same too, I don't think I've ever had need to go past the first page of plan new route! I'm pretty certain the postcode I quoted is correct and it's quicker to type in for those with sausage fingers. I shall certainly try the lat-long option just for kicks. Steve Dunning
Another good visit by the UKCAA, with superb weather once again. Thank you to all those who made the journey and to Shropshire MFC for allowing the visit with Paul Bardoe acting as club contact. The raffle raised £32 towards funds and thanks must go to the prize providers, namely Optifuel, John (Minty) Morton and Chris Bond (Bondaero). A further one may be held this autumn at short notice (3-4 days) at Retford so watch this space.
