David Hall 9
I'm finally getting round to starting this kit. The description says that it needs four or six 9g servos, but the slot for the elevator servo is bigger than that for the rudder. It is 30mm long, the 23mm 9g servo just falls through. I guess that it could be a good idea to use a heavier servo on the elevator, but what size servo slots into a 30mm space? There's not many servo adverts that give the size of the mounting slot.... Depron Daz
Make a new servo plate to fit the 9g servo and either screw or glue over the one that's already there? I fitted 9g ones to every thing in my Phoenix. Cannot remember if the elevator hole was bigger though????
john stones 1 - Moderator
Have a browse on Hobby King for a servo it gives dimensions, may be close to a 14 gramme one. John
Bernard Alan-Brown
The problem with this model is that there is limited clearance between the Servo mounting board and the inside edge of the Fuselage, 15 mm. most servos don't are outside this dimension between the servo mounting surface and the inner rim ofFuselage. I have that problem right now and non of the servo specs have that dimension so I'm stuck.
TigerOC
Just looking at mine the Hextronik HXT900 from HK would fit. Rob

Wihtgar
I've got a HS-85MG which fits the larger slot in mine. Not sure about the fuse aperture clearance though but it can be trimmed easily without losing too much strength.
