Sabre Flyer
I have an electric conversion in mind but access to the battery is a problem. I know people were using A123 cells to overcome this in the past. Is anyone still using these? Are they still a good option? Where could I get good cells from? Any comments/advice greatly received, Many Thanks.

Martin Harris - Moderator
Shame they're on back order - I do wonder if they are still widely available as DeWalt (the common source of many of them) don't seem to use them any more.
Fylingdales Flyer
I use LiFe batteries from Component Shop Wales (google it). Excellent service and a good selection of 3s batteries. Graham
Martin Harris - Moderator
Quite a pricey business building a flight pack - and no claim that they are genuine A123 cells either. I'm not sure whether soft cased LiFe cells have the same safety features as A123s - are they safe to charge in situ?
Tim Mackey
My experience ( albeit quite a few years ago ) with soft case LiFe packs was dissapointing, and I ended up using genuine A123 industry cells. The projects were a conversion of an IC wot4, followed by Sopwith Camel which featured in the mag and also demonstrated an onboard sound system.
