Flashing light

Flashing light, or continuous beeps, may indicate that the ESC is not getting a signal from the receiver. Your receiver normally gets its power (5v or thereabouts) from the BEC that's built into the ESC, and if that's failed the receiver will not power up. If your receiver doesn't show any lights, that's probably the reason, and it may be a failed BEC or it may be a broken connection somewhere between ESC and receiver.

If, on the other hand, your receiver has power it will probably show a solid red or flashing red LED if it's not getting a signal from the transmitter. That will also cause the ESC to give error signals.
