Erm... are you talking about a different article to the one we all read Chris?

The theory is that this device would allow a hijacker to *take control* of the target - not just bring it down. However, there is a complication. I suspect that the hijack will not know about servo reversing - this would be a function of the transmitter encoder prior to transmission - and the hijacking pilot could find himself with any number of controls reversed.

And if you consider something like the Taranis, the controls may not even be transmitted in a standard order. For example, I've changed the default order on mine to TAER, to match my JR gear. And some of my models are set to EATR, to match my (hard-wired) Ace MicroPro transmitter.

So, a hijacker could find himself with not only some controls reversed, but also flight controls not necessarily in the right place!

Under those circumstances it would take considerable piloting skill to fetch it down safely!
