Phil Green
Posted by ChrisB on 28/10/2016 18:34:46: Isn't it an offence to endanger an aircraft? Therefore the shoot down of a model ... is an offence ... ... deliberately crashed Erm... are you talking about a different article to the one we all read Chris? ChrisB
I may or may not have the correct article number but the principle remains the same. Taken from the BMFA website **LINK**
Peter Christy
Chris, The theory is that this device would allow a hijacker to *take control* of the target - not just bring it down. However, there is a complication. I suspect that the hijack will not know about servo reversing - this would be a function of the transmitter encoder prior to transmission - and the hijacking pilot could find himself with any number of controls reversed. And if you consider something like the Taranis, the controls may not even be transmitted in a standard order. For example, I've changed the default order on mine to TAER, to match my JR gear. And some of my models are set to EATR, to match my (hard-wired) Ace MicroPro transmitter. So, a hijacker could find himself with not only some controls reversed, but also flight controls not necessarily in the right place! Under those circumstances it would take considerable piloting skill to fetch it down safely! -- Pete
onetenor
It could be almost be a sort of tug of war LOL
Phil 9
peter has a very good point there. The device has too many floors to be used as a security device. It would only be of interest to those of a mischievous nature
Denis Watkins
Surely the next stage is frequency jamming around sensitive areas
Phil 9
I googeled drone jamming. There are some very paranoid people out there. And there are some who just get their kicks from spoiling other peoples fun
