Jim Newberry - Nuviation Ltd.
Just finished my latest model this morning so I thought I'd share a few pictures here. It's called Puddleduck and it is a vintage style three channel trainer. It is very similar to my earlier Jemima model but with a few improvements. Hope you like it! DaveyP
Nice looking model, is it from a kit or plan and how big is it ?
Jim Newberry - Nuviation Ltd.
Thanks Davey. It's my own design, based on an earlier design of mine. It has a 56" wingspan and weighs just over 3lbs. It is electric powered and I would have flown it this afternoon but I ran out of time and had to go to work so it will have to wait a few days. fly boy3
That's a great looking model, I like it. 56inch, easy to see in flight (at my age lol) , light weight, so a nice wing loading, electric which I am still learning. Has to be built and covered by builder great, with vintage looks, whats not to like about it ? Love to see vid some time soon. Cheers
Jim Newberry - Nuviation Ltd.
Well I didn't manage to get any video as I was on my own but I am happy to report that it flies - and very well too! It was a bit windy at the field but I decided to give it a go and based on this afternoon's fun I would say that I'll be getting a lot more air time with this model over the summer! fly boy3
Nice one Jim. An old gent at our field would say, if it looks right, it will fly right. He would be right too with this one. Thanks
Dwain Dibley.
Hi Jim, I love the look of this model, and I am going to have a go at building it from the free plan in a recent mag. Anybody else built one ?? I will do a bit of a blog for anybody interested, but mostly for my own amusement. D.D.
Mowerman
My memory may be a bit off but wasn't there a model called the puddle duck some years back, I seem to recall it was an amphibian ?
onetenor
Yes I seem to recall that too. Was it one of Vic Smeeds designs perhaps?
