Al Knights
Thinking of building a ju52 over the winter, however, the big point is how to reproduce the corrugated skin. So chaps, what's the best way to simulate the corrugation?
Paul Marsh
Get a hardboard box, with the flutes on, pull the layer off and glue them onto the skin, then use watered down PVA to stiffen the cardboard and paint to suit.
jrman
This shop is worth looking at .http://modelshop.co.uk/Shop/Raw-Materials/Item/Corrugated-card/ITM4874
Dwain Dibley.
I used the corrugated cardboard on my Cirrus moth tank. D.D.
Geoff S
Posted by Dwain Dibley. on 14/08/2017 23:55:03: I used the corrugated cardboard on my Cirrus moth tank. D.D. I also used corrugated paper for my Tiger Moth tank but it's stuff intended for craft work rather than from a cardboard box. I got 10 A4 sheets for a trivial amount from a eBay supplier. Just do a search on eBay and there'll be several to choose from. I didn't even have to paint mine the red coloured one was as near a perfect match for what I wanted and the corrugations were just about the right scale pitch. Karl-Georg Krafft
I used the same method on my Boeing 100's tailplane. I had to cut off half of the flutes to get the correct spacing. Karl-Georg
Al Knights
That looks good Karl. I don't understand what you mean by cut-off half the flutes and did you need to fill the ends of the card?
Karl-Georg Krafft
I meant I had to cut off every other flute. Yes , the ends needed some glue and were pressed flat. Karl - Georg
