Mike Quinn 2
Hi building a 60 sized TopFlite Corsair ... want to use carbon pushrod for elevator as it will make a few things simpler, like squeezing in the retractable tail wheel and reducing weight at back end. Any recommendation where to get a carbon pushrods from ... realise I might have to make the ends up with piano wire and plug inserts etc. Cheers Mike

Geoff S
I'm intending to buy 5mm carbon tubing which has a 3mm internal diameter and epoxy 3mm threaded rod into the ends. I've just had a look at at Nexus' web site and they don't stock carbon push rods. Geoff

Mike Quinn 2
Hi Thank s for the info ... The FighterAces stuff might be a bit overkill for a 60 sized model but useful to know. Next question ... from those links ... what size tube do you guys think appropriate for a 60/90 sized model? Would the 5mm external/3mm internal diameter be too small for that sized model? Cheers Mike

Stuphedd
I use Arrow shafts from the archery shop , or a kite shop ?? The Highwayman Hinckley !! They also do fibreglass rod also you should always keep you eyes open when visiting lidl and Aldi because they sell kites with carbon stringers for less than you can buy just the carbon. And as a last resort visit the bin at you local golf club , because those golf umbrellas often have carbon struts and after these high winds there could be one or 2 in the skip, One brolly will last you a lifetime !! cheers T he Highwaymen www.thehighwaymen.co.uk
