Posted May 8, 2018 Share Posted May 8, 2018 Wanting to post a youtube video, clicked the youtube icon and the instructions state: Click Share Click the Embed button Scroll to the size boxes, go to "Customised" and type "450" into the width box Copy and paste the embed code into the box below However, niether "size boxes" or "Customised" options are available and the video size is larger than 450. Any advise please? Those instructions were sort of correct, but not that precise. I have amended them accordingly for clarity (items in bold italics). Proof it works... OK, I spotted the error in my first post - there was a line missing: Click Share Click the Embed button Scroll to the size boxes, go to "Customised" and type "450" into the width box Under the Embed box (that starts <iframe width=.... ) click on SHOW MORE Next to Video size: click the drop down and select Custom size Type 450 in first box, then press Tab Copy and paste the embed code into the box below It is definitely there if you are using a PC or Mac with IE or Chrome... Looks like there is no requirement to do the custom size any more then, as the forum will autoscale it to fit... Pete B Posted May 8, 2018 Share Posted May 8, 2018 Reading this thread, I've been wondering whether I should advise you all to clear your caches re the Youtube instructions as I updated Chris Bott's first post in the user guide thread in February this year.... Those instructions are current and correct, trust me The need to resize videos went out of the window some time back. I was wondering why you were all quoting the 'type 450 in the box' instruction and eventually discovered it in the box brought up when one clicks the Youtube icon in the reply box. My apologies - I never bother with reading that so it escaped the updated instructions. I don't have editing rights to correct that box but I know someone who does, so I'll get them onto it...
