Graham Ashby 123
Hi Matt, if you find someone with two I'd like one as well :-)
Matt Yorke
:o)I found one some time (year or so) back in southampton that was ex display and a bit beaten up, but they wanted really silly money for it.More realistically, have you seen these 3:http://www.rcairplane.net/index1.html

Graham Ashby 123
Good for you Matt, how does it look? Good condition?
Matt Yorke
Thanks Graham. It's brand new in the box, never been started - a touch pricey, but what the hell, I'm pleased with it.
Mike Stevens
Hi Matt,I see you are sorted but for anyone else considering take a look at Ivan Pettigrew's website http://www.geocities.com/ivansplans/He does plans for a couple sized Catalina's.I beleive some of his design's are to be short kitted but not the Catalina at this stage.Mike
Robin Colbourne
My brother, Stephen, who lives near Canberra, in Australia, has just bought one of the 1.4 metre span ready to fly Guanli Catalina/PBYs that are on eBay. He has posted a video of the first flight here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=917117 He said that it tended to pitch up a bit on the first flight, and that the tip float strut was a bit weak, hence the ground (water?) loops before take off. This was the first flight, so I'm hoping for some better low and slow videos including a landing. It is not totally scale, as the observation bubbles are a bit smaller than they should be, but it still captures the gorgeous look of the full-size Catalina. Airwilf
Hi If you want a Catalina then take a good look at the Dynam version. I`ve had the GuanLi version & compared to the Dynam it is just rubbish. If you want a truthfull review of either of these please let me know. To wet your apetite look at my repainted Dynam example, this plane is VERY good scale, tough, powerfull & takes off & lands from grass, snow or water. Look for it on youtube. Paul Marsh
My Kyosho Cat flies well. Although I've had it for years, only started to fly it last year. HAs two SC 15's in it and even a hand launch in no wind goes off ,like a shockky. Made a dolly, but is more of a problem, but good for storing the model on. Mike Stevens
The Dynam Cat come with its own build support jig - add some wheels and a dolly ready made maybe?
