Geoff Gardiner
Next up on the building board is the Tony Nijhuis Harvard. I am hoping it will be a quicker build than the Mosquito, which took me 2 years. This will be built for electric power and possibly with a sound system. I am still pondering battery position - will try and get it as far forward as possible. Cut the parts from the laser/cnc sheets. Then started with the fuselage. More later... Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Nice, this will be interesting. I've always fancied a Harvard. Mind you, like most modellers, I can probably say that about 40 different prototypes! BEB
Geoff Gardiner
That looks fantastic Jez. I have just had a look at your album. I may be asking questions as my build progresses - if that is OK.

Geoff Gardiner
Thanks Jez. First question is: What motor and battery are you using and did you manage to get the CofG correct without having to add extra weight? Cheers. Geoff... oh...... and what is the all up weight (mine always come out on the porky side)?
Broken Prop
I've put this build in my diary Geoff. Glad to see it underway and look forward to more details. Pete

Geoff Gardiner
Thanks Percy, an interesting tip. I think I will probably need nose weight though. I will take a view on the retracts when I get to building the wing. A little more done today: More later...
Geoff Gardiner
Bit more done: Next job is to sort out where the battery is going.
Geoff Gardiner
Made a start on the battery box tonight. I think I will drill some weight reducing vent holes before gluing it together. More later...
Geoff Gardiner
I had to trim the former to fit the battery box before gluing in. More later...
Geoff Gardiner
I have made up a motor mount which is fixed with four M6 threaded bars. Also, top sheeting going on. More later...
Geoff Gardiner
Bit more done - tailplane and elevators: More later...
Geoff Gardiner
Bit more work on the tailplane and fin. Working on the rudder, the rib / positions on the plan and what was supplied in the CNC pack don't seem to match up. I will make some from 3mm balsa and adjust the positions. More later... Top battery hatch yet to be sorted. Made a start on the wing center section: More later...
