Andy Hat
I inherited this plane and I'm not sure what it is - anyone know? It's been stored in a shed for some time and it a bit worse for wear but I'm keen to rejuvenate it if I can. It looks like there's a part missing where the windscreen would be - there's nothing to attach the rubber bands onto at the front. It would be great to find out what model it is and see if I can get a plan. Also, once I've fixed the broken horiz-stab, I need to somehow un-twist the tail section. The whole tail area is rotated a few degrees so the rudder is no longer at 90 degs. Any suggestions on how I can do this?

chris larkins
To me that looks like a 'Detroit Custom Cruiser' made by Powerplanes International. I had one as my first model, powered by an O.S LA 46, I passed my 'A' test with it.
Doug Moss
I recently rescued one as well and was wondering what it was. Can anyone put a date to it?
Peter Miller
I second that as a Custom Cruiser. Lovely model
David Davis
Yes it's a Detroit Custom Cruiser produced by the much-missed Powerplanes International who also produced a nice Maule Super Rocket. I used to have a DCC. I had an OS 40 Surpass in mine. It was the second model I put into a tree!
Andy Hat
Thanks all! Might get the heat gun out later - to try and untwist the rear. Looks like I need to get some orange paint...
