Guy Hamilton-Fletcher
Hi everyone, I am looking for a free plan that came with one of the model magazines during the 90's possibly RCM&E. It was a slab sided fuselage He-162 salamander style sport model I think called Hi-Jet with no under carriage. I think this might be a chris golds plan as I understand he did quite a few IC ducted fan models. I started the model when I was younger but never finished it so I would like to possibly complete it with a brushless electric ducted fan. Thanks Guy
John Lee
Guy, welcome & could it be this one?
Piers Bowlan
Welcome to the forum Guy. I will look through some of my old QEFI magazines as I don't recall an RCM&E plan unless you are sure it was RCM&E? Do you recall which fan unit it used? Piers Bowlan
Just a suggestion, why don't you build something a bit more up to date Guy, like the excellent Tony Nijhuis Jet Provost in this months RCM&E? The words of my old class teacher are still echoing in my ears, Alan; RTFQ! Edited By Piers Bowlan on 07/08/2019 18:46:
Alan Gorham_
Some people haven't read the question properly!! The OP states that was an IC design NOT EDF.... I remember it I think. It used a Cox TD .020 and homemade fan. It was twin fin with a dihedral tailplane. It was a plan in Radio Modeller. I had the plan blown up to fit a Kyosho EDF unit (remember those?). Can't find the original plan or mag but I will find it....I'll be back!
Guy Hamilton-Fletcher
Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I think Alan Gorham has it, it was a simple slab sided easy build model He 162 in layout ie a IC ducted fan on top of the wing and fuselage with twin fins and a dihedral tailplane. I think the wing had a bit of dihedral as well. Its not particularly up to date, but more of a nostalgic project.
Guy Hamilton-Fletcher
After some detective work, I have found its the august 1996 edition of radio modeller. The model is called jet 4 and its a chris golds plan.
Alan Gorham_
Good work. I've just found it on the magazine exchange website. It's on the cover of the mag! For some reason I initially thought I built it in 1994 or 5 but it was years ago so I'm allowed to be wrong!
Guy Hamilton-Fletcher
Had to sift through quite a few front covers before I recognized the plan on the front. To think thats 23 years ago now - wow where does the time go?
Chris Channon
Hi Guy, that's strange I have just ordered the Paul Gray ic ducted fan Hawk plans from Sarik just because i built one years ago and still have a couple of Micro-Mold ducted fan units in the drawer. Hope you have fun with your trip down memory lane, Chris.C.

Guy Hamilton-Fletcher
Has anyone got a copy of the plan or the august 1996 copy of radio modeller as there aren't any on ebay at the moment.
