David Ramsden
Just putting together my first electric flight set up. I managed the shaft reversal on a Rimfire 400 without too much trouble and used Loctite 648 where thread locking was indicated. Now thinking about the JP ali spinner and folding prop. Should I use loctite on the spinner nut & screw and on the blade-retaining screws? I guess there's less vibration with electric motors than there is with IC. Do things work loose over time? Should I Loctite everything? Thanks, David
Frank Skilbeck
David, no, thread lock is not required on those.
Ronaldo
All my folding props come with nyloc nuts on the blade retaining bolts. You don't need threadloc on those.
Dwain Dibley.
Just remember to balance your props to reduce, if not eliminate, vibration. Also there are products that are just retainers and not full bond, if you follow me. Some are colour coded, red , green etc. D.D.
