Steve Dunne
Has anyone got a Maxi-Lift? If so, would you please measure the length of the engine cowl, or the distance from the firewall to the spinner backplate? I am looking to see what engine options I might have... Many thanks, Steve. Steve Dunne
Thanks Philip - I should have been able to find that myself! Steve
Philip Ogden
No problem, mine flew really well on a Laser 180, didn't need more than 1/3 throttle. I'm probably going to go the other way and try a Laser 80. If that is not quite enough, I've got a Laser 150 to try also. Seems a very versatile, fun, model and flies like a big trainer. Enjoy! Doug Moss
I have an O S 108 in mine which works well. It's no ball of fire but bear in mind that where I live is over 5000 feet amsl and usually quite hot.
Frank Skilbeck
Laser 150 in mine and it tows up a 1/5th scale Mike Trew T-21 OK. New club member has just joined and dug out his old Multiplex Big Lift with an OS160 Gemini, I've flown them back to back and Seagull have done a pretty good job with the Maxi Lift. Also used mine to spread a former club mates ashes over our site, probably a bit morbid to post the video here........
Bruce Collinson
SD, Wouldn't you rather have a Maxford Mentor, one careful owner? Zenoah 25 would have to come out. Looks like a similar size. BTC
Steve Dunne
Hi Bruce, Who was the careful owner? did you get it directly from him...?. Some interesting suggestions - thanks to all. Steve.
