birdy
Try not having the full page for the web browser, then you can only see part of page. Use the bar at the bottom so you can only see this central bit.
flytilbroke
Yeah. A quarter of the current speed might be acceptable as they are so rapid when you want to look they are gone to something else. So I don`t bother.
Andy Green
Here's a top tip, and it works for any animated gif file. Pressing the Escape key stops them.Andy
Tim Mackey
Spot on Andy - but you may need to press it again in order to "activate" the thread if you wish to post. Easy fix
flytilbroke
Did not work for me, I use AOL.
Tim Mackey
Say no more - thats because AOL use a "restricted browser system"
Andy Green
Timbo, this only affects the images, the rest of the site will work ok, but when you post they are reset so start flashing again. Why did they do it, I'm a web designer / programmer by trade, and it is a definite no no. Andy
Ultymate
One man's meat is another's poison why not have animated gifs, there's always the magazines or books if you don't want animation
260 Flyer
I use Opera and I can set the preference for each individual site and turn off all the distracting stuff just on modelflying.co.uk .
GrumpyGnome
I must admit I don't like it eitehr. But then aagin, I don't like PowerPoint presentations where every single transition has been used ............ I don't see it adding any value personally. But maybe I'm just a Grumpy Gnome. Terence Lynock
I use Opera and I can set the preference for each individual site and turn off all the distracting stuff just on modelflying.co.uk .The problem is, and editorial staff please take note, that anything flashing so fast as some of these things can quite easily trigger an epileptic attack if the person is prone, flash photography, pinball machines and various other equiopment has to be avoided by many people because of a simular problem to vertigo where the flashing lights cause sickness and disorientation.I agree that these things should be scrapped because A) nobody takes any notice of them anyway and B) it instantly sets your mind against whatever is being advertised because it has annoyed you, regards, Terry
