Frank Skilbeck
Just test flown a new model using a Beatles 40A BEC ESC, motor is pulling 33A max on a 3s Lipo so no problems there. ESC BEC is driving a Multiplex Wingstabi Rx with 4 x 12/15 gram servos, in flight I was getting a low receiver voltage warning with the a volts readout of 4.7 to 4.8v (alarm was set at 5v), should I be worried or just set the alarm a but lower? Dickw
I have found that gyro equipped receivers tend to work the servos harder and it does only seem to be a 3A BEC. A volt drop of up to .3v on a regulated supply does suggest it is being pushed harder than it likes - unless there is an obvious cable/connector issue. I think I would be a bit nervous! Frank Skilbeck
I have another 60A Esc with a 5.5v 5A UBEC, I'll put that in for peace of mind. I have used a Wingstabi on a larger aerobatic aircraft (Digital servos) with a similar ESC and didn't get any warnings. Will the try the 40A with a regular Rx and see how it performs on that.
