Doug L
Hello, would anyone know if the Saito F-1 Fuel Filter SAI50109 is ok for petrol engines as well as glow? On the MacGregor website the fuel filter description just says glow in the listing, however when you look under under petrol engine parts list the filter is is included in the engines parts list? https://www.macgregor.co.uk/saito/sai50109.htm Thanks. Engine Doctor
The biggest cause of petrol engine stoppages is air in the system as it can stop the pump in the carb working. A proper petrol filter either felt or ceramic will effectively stop air bubbles getting into the fuel line as well as filter the fuel far better than a mesh filter. Horses for courses. The filter you show is for glow fuel , is an inline and looks like it has an on off tap ? All of these features can allow air into the fuel pipe . Just stick with a proven clunk type petrol filter and avoid the problem .
J D 8
Good felt type clunk type filters can be had at places that service mowers, brush cutters and chain saws.
