Zflyer
I have saito FA62 and the slider is seized in the barrel. (Its in a puppeteer which I bought 2nd hand and as been in my loft for three years. I havent flown it yet) I have soaked it in WD40 to no effect. It is currently soaking in vinegar.. I was considering dropping in a pan of boiling water but am concerned about the rubber gaskets. Anyone have a useful tip i can try?
Jonathan W
Vinegar = acid = bad idea! Boiling water should be fine, very good chance to free the gummed up carb. Rubber parts will be OK at that temperature. Best not to use a heat gun because then you could burn the rubber.
Nigel R
Just soak the whole carb in old fuel for a week or two.
Paul De Tourtoulon
Hot water, alcohol or acetone, a heat gun also works wonders, it's the oil ( castor ? ) making it stick it just needs loosening up.
