Lee Metcalfe
Hi guys, is Glens Models still trading? I've phoned the number on the website and comes back as not recognised and sent an email without response. john davidson 1
Not trading for many years, I was given a Glens CAP about 10 years ago and they were defunct at that time. The CAP sadly ended up in a tree, a brilliant flier in the short time I flew it. The power train now resides in a Christen Eagle which is kept well way from any trees! That's a shame, wish i had bought one a few years ago now. Oh well i'm still looking for a 3d capable ARTF if you have any other suggestions? I've seen the Pilot RC models, they look like what i'm after.
john davidson 1
The Glens CAP was a built up RTF , very light and a real acrobat , but reduced to matchwood and unrepairable , sob
Adrian Smith 1
I once built a Glen's 30% size Extra. Sadly it was over engineered and I felt a pallet of bricks could fly better. It didn't last very long unsurprisingly. The Cap range was a different prospect and the ones I had flew very, very well. Probably goes to show to survive one has to provide more than just a one type wonder. Just my view. Rich too
A couple of years have passed. The website is still up. I was on it yesterday but it does appear very outdated. I have a few unbuilt planes of his, one of them 25 years old. I’m a slow builder!! 😁
cymaz
I’ve just been out with his 30% Cap 232. It’s no 3D machine, it’s mighty heavy by today’s standards but it’s a lovely stable big airframe. No tendency to snap at all, just great for big loops, 1/2 Cubans etc.
Adrian Smith 1
I had one of those a while ago, Cymaz. I am glad you can get on with it. I like large scale but found it a bit of a dog to fly so I moved it on if only for the weight issue. I usually photograph all my planes, but not that one! What power plant did you use? cymaz
I’ve go it powered by a DLE55 and canister. Almost unlimited vertical. Cg spot on with no elevator needed on inverted flight.
