Tim Donald
I once built a glider that I think was called a Packman from a free magazine plan in the late 80's. It was a V-tail and I'm guessing about 1 to 1.5m span for the slope. Does anybody remember this or even better can anybody point me in the direction of some plans? I've looked everywhere I can think of on the internet but can't find anything except a post that Tom Foreman on here saying that he once built one. I've messaged Tom but not sure he is still on here. I made a few of these back in the day and wanted to make another. Thanks!
John Lee
Afraid it does not ring a bell. Here are all the pages that have V-tail gliders from the 1993/94 Plans Handbook, which includes both Radio Modeller & RCM&E plans. Anything there familiar, perhaps under a different name? Tim Donald
Wow, thank John ! No I can't see it there. I think it had ailerons and a V tail, no dihedral (because I made a few versions with different aerofoil sections and one with rotating wings !) No idea where the plan came from if not a magazine. Tom messaged me back to say he did make one about 30 years ago and is going to look next time he is in his loft to see if he can find the plans. Will post here if I find anything ! Thanks very much for looking though. Now you've made me want to build the Algebra 2m as well !!!
Rory Gray
Hi Tim, I built the Packman glider back in 87, if I remember correctly it flew very well. It was a free plan in the "Fun Fly Special" magazine published in 1987. In another thread here there is a short mention of the magazine as it had another free plan by David Boddington. I have the magazine stored somewhere - I could try dig it out and scan the article.
John Lee
Well remembered Ron! I have the mag in my collection, complete with plan. Tim if you PM me with your address I'll pop it in the post for you. No charge but if you can donate the cost of postage + a bit more to the DEC Ukrainian appeal I think it would be an appropriate gesture. https://www.dec.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal
Wookman
There are some oldies and goodies in those RM pages. I seem to remember the Hannock Jubilee being a fine glider.
Tim Donald
Thanks Rory, yes I loved flying mine, it was especially good at scratching along a ridge in really light winds. John, what a star, thank you so much. I will pm you!

Tim Donald
Thanks Kevin, that's the one ! John has very kindly offered to send me the magazine / plan. This forum is great - I have given up all hope of finding a copy after searching high and low on the internet. One post and I have all the help I could ever ask for !
