Phil Cooke
Hi there, I’m currently on holiday with the family at South Molton near Barnstaple in Devon and have a slope soarer ready to go in the boot. I normally fly at Morte Point on a SWerly when I’m down here but the winds for rest of the week are from the NW - does anyone know of a good NW slope in the North Devon area as Thursday in particular is looking ideal! many thanks for your help

Wookman
Nattadon Common near Chagford on Dartmoor is abou an hour from South Molton through the lanes of mid Devon. Foreland point to the east of Lynmouth on the coast is about 45 mins away.
Phil Cooke
Many thanks for your replies and knowledge guys!! Foreland point looks mighty impressive on the map I’ll go look at that I think on Thursday - thanks again!!
Phil Cooke
Just thought I’d close loop on this thread and offer my thanks once again to both Brian and Wookman who helped get me airborne last night - it turned out to be a lovely evening session up on Foreland Point! Upon arrival the track out to the lighthouse (which was my intended flying site) was closed and locked off so I parked up a little more west and walked out to the coastal path about 750m from my car. Flew a lovely WNW facing bowl near the old church at Countisbury and found just enough space to land coast side of the stone wall. Epic lift and flew till sundown. Awesome addition to this weeks family holiday in Devon - so thanks for the advice guys!!
Brian Sweeting 1
Well found and we now know that at least one person enjoyed their holiday 😉 Looks like a good spot though.

TigerOC
Regular and favourite place of flyers from Okehampton. Countisbury Common. Park in the public parking just past the Bluebells pub(?) and walk over to the radiomast on the hill. We fly to the left of the mast. Flies W - WNW. Fantastic areas behind you to land.
