As I mentioned above, we have several, but we need something a bit more substantial to make it less of a chore. We've been looking a ride-ons like Allen National, Ransomes and Toro ganged reel mowers, but they'd need to be very second hand (i.e. cheap!) Pros and cons of ped. vs. ride-on, rotary vs. reel, etc.? Ron Gray Posted September 7, 2023 Share Posted September 7, 2023 The Allen National is a great machine, bare bones, no nonsense gang mower and easy to work on. For me, a ride on for cutting a flying strip is a no brainer, a nice relaxing way to spend a couple of hours. Rotary vs reel - imo you will get a much better finishing cut with a reel but can be more of a problem cutting long and/or damp grass. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
