Delta Whiskey
Does anyone know if a skyport 6 tx can be used on a sim? It has a trainer socket, but will it work if I had the right cable? The futaba cable that I have for another newer TX had the square cable connection, the skyport having the round version. I also wanted to know if the same cable can be used between TX's in trainer / pupil mode?
winchweight
Yes it can be used with a sim, you just need the right cable. The cable connects to the trainer socket and usually to a usb port or dongle (depending on the sim), so this means you cannot use it as a buddy lead too. But they are cheap off of eBay as are the sim leads.
Delta Whiskey
Thanks, though I don't think the cable for Phoenix is available anywhere without buying the software for £80 ! The Phoenix I have, had the square futaba dongle cable, that fits in with my Futaba 6EX, TX, and you can pull of the adaptor end and use it too with the DX Spektrums fine. I will look around for the skyport cable though, as it's for my old man who owns the skyport wants to have a go on a trainer, but I suggested the sim first ! Terence Lynock
Anybody know if a Skysport 6A can be converted from Mode 1 to Mode 2? I have asked Futaba and they say yes but it will cost me 25 quid plus P&P, regards, Terry
David Davis
A knowledgeable club-mate should be able to effect a conversion. Skysports are pretty basic.
