chris hamilton
Ey up, just trying to gather some information on some budget electric helis. i have been looking carfully at the JP twister cp v2 and the hummingbirdv4.My budget is around the 150 mark. flown contra rotating now for some time, and want to prgress. But am unsure if these cheaper helis are just something to buy and smash or if the will be a reasonalby good investment.

Alan B
Hi ChrisI personally have a Humimgbird V4 I keep it in the boot of the car and have a play whenever I get chanceI have found it very stable in the hover and fun to fly There is a high quality tx and everything you need in the box even a trainer carriage Spares dont break the bank and I found it can take alot of abuse by the noviceIt even holds it own in light windsIf I recall I think Midland Helicopters are doing a special at the moment for £99 which is good valueRegards Alan
Torben Theisen
Go for the hummingbird, its 99.99 in some shops, has good upgrades and is cheap to maintain. It also comes with a simulator and the Tx-Pc cable is included. It can take allot of abuse, i was drag racing with mine and pulled up at the end of the straight and the battery came shooting out because i forgot to put the elastic retaining band in. The heli hit the floor hard, rolled loads of times, but the only thing that was wrong after that was the blade paddles had moved a bit. I know guys who pylon race them, they crash allot, but the helis are fast to repair and the spares are cheap.Definitely go for the hummingbird.
