James Ellis
As the description says, why does there need to be a switch on the FF8 module to make it work with 7 or 8 channel Futaba recievers? Does anyone know, or have a link to an explaination? From the manual it looked like it was the same for the 10C transmitter, however this will operate the 6,7 and 8 channel receivers, not just the 7 and 8 channel like the FF8. The FF7 module only operates the 7 channel receiver as far as i can remember. Are other manufacturer systems the same? Spectrum, etc.
John Privett
Futaba (USA) have a compatibility chart on their website showing what can be used with what. In summary, the R606FS receiver (which was discontinued some time ago) can't be used with the TM-7 or TM-8 modules. Also the 6 and 7 channel txs and modules can't work with the 8 and 14 channel rxs. Or so the chart says!
James Ellis
Yes, that chart is very useful, thanks. In fact it shows a 4 channel receiver that works in 7 channel mode. I see that on the purpose built 2.4GHz transmitters, instead of a manual switch, compatibility is via a screen selection. I would still like to know why this is and also if other systems need to switch between 1-7 and 8-14 channel mode.
andy watson
The 10 has the same "feature" On the plus side it does stop me flying my planes with the 14 channel rx in when I am set to a 7 channel rx. But apart from that minor fringe "benefit" I don't know why it does it either!
Ultymate
I think on the smaller R/X's it's on 1024 and on the larger ones 8-14 it's 2048 resolution Edited By Ultymate on 17/09/2009 15:49:
