ericrw
I'm in the market for a Lipo battery. Should I consider buying off ebay, in particular Hong Kong ? Any recommendations/advice, would be appreciated !
GrumpyGnome
I've bought lots of LiPos off EBay and found them to be generally OK in lower power set-ups. For higher performance, e.g. ducted fans, I'd stick to 'branded' ones. GG
Tim Mackey
Trouble is there are so many and some are great some are Ok, and some are rubbish.Frankly, the likes of Giant Cod and others can do such good prices on them these days, I would tend to stick to them.... returning a duffer directly to HK /Ebayer aint easy, or cheap. Simon Chaddock
Just to add my 2 pennyworthI have bough 9 LiPo from Hong Kong/China. 4x3s 1500mAh, 2x3s 1800mAh, 2x3s 2200mAh & one 2s 5000mAh. All very cheap, most expensive £12 (including postage!). One 2200mAh 'puffed up' on the first charge and was scrapped. One 1500mAh failed after about 25 flights. None have been worked hard (i.e. no more than 10C). For what I wanted the cost, reliability and performance of E bay LiPos (as well as motors, servos & ESCs) are ok for me.
