  1. Cyano activator, removes it without affecting the finish.
  2. Andy, built up wings are easy at this size, 1/8" - 1/4" ribs and 3/32" sheeting, it goes on much easier than the usual 1/16". Dave, if you want to save weight I'd make the wing three piece with the dihedral build into the centre section, the joiners to the outer panels could then be short lengths or carbon tube, say in the region of 25-35mm dia rather than 5' of box steel.
  3. Olly, any update on the TB-3?
  4. Subscribed! BTW, what's going on with that guy's thigh?
  5. Who fancies adding this to their collection? Build thread here - **LINK** Ready to go including rx, LiPo's and afterburner rings. £180
  6. I've got most of the range and wouldn't ever be without it. The 280mm blocks get the most use followed closely by the flat strips. The 560mm block is great for leading edges etc.
  7. Yep, stil available either from Traplet or Vortex vacform (I think) which is a better shape and clearer
  8. Ripmax are the official UK service centre, they did my 14mz earlier this year, excellent service. There is also an independent guy who's name escapes me, I've no personal experience of him but many here have and rate him very highly.
  9. Looking good Chris. One point though, Oracover is MORE stretchy than solafilm but you need a hotter iron. You can really stretch it a lot and abuse it much more in the process. Be bold!
  10. Nice work Peter, good to see I'm not alone in the workshop today
  11. Old wives tale 'eh? Maybe worth reading about the moment of inertia.... Having weight further outboard of the centreline slows roll acceleration and deceleration, in short it makes roll control feel less 'crisp'. It's a very real effect but granted in our models not a huge concern.
  12. I like that Lindsay, what section did you use?
  13. We had a work Christmas lunch on Thursday and it was warm enough for people to be eating outside in t-shirts, it's unusual for sure but I'm not complaining!
  14. That's a rapid and tidy build there Chris They're great little flyers and we've had a lot of fun with them, good to see another one on the way. Subscribed!   Edited to add: just a thought, you did sheet the wings separately so you can join with the required dihedral?  Edited By Matt Jones on 17/12/2015 06:34:41
  15. David, the short answer is yes. It's standard practice if you wire up a din connector to group the positive and negative wires and run separate signal wires. I've done it for years
  16. Scott, you have every right to be delighted with that, it looks great and will be stunning on the slope. Look forward to seeing it in 2016. I'm not jealous at all......
  17. See what I mean about the canopy? It becomes a real focus point that the eye is naturally drawn to and I think you were right to go the extra mile, looks mighty good to me You should hold out for the pilot, Sean's work is top drawer.
  18. Looks nice, will be impressively big. I look forward to you and the weird one doing some syncro aeros. I feel another Sunday night request coming on.................
  19. Not me mate, I'll be in the warm trying to build something from a dodgy plan
  20. Thanks for sharing that BEB, it was a joy to watch, one of the nicest warbird routines I've seen. Very smooth throughout and crisp where it needed to be. Precise is probably the best word that comes to mind. As you say it all looked unhurried, very definitely a pilot who's in command of the aircraft and not the other way around.
  21. One consideration is the flying attitude of the full size. For example some aircraft fly with a distinct nose down attitude so I'd put some positive incidence at the root to achieve the right 'sit' in the air. Hercs sit flat so I'd set the wing root at 0 with the fuselage datum and then set washout to give -2 degrees at the tip. Not saying it's the best option but it's where I'd be thinking.
