  1. Thanks Matty, if I can do this it will save me money so I can spend it on modelling lol. Cheers ps I have put pics on the cloud already.
  2. Hi Matty B, no, not by email, but message appears as soon as iPad is switched on before home page appears. It's quite worrying at my age. I have been told my iPad is on its last legs and I should invest in a new one lol.
  3. I have an eight year old iPad that's giving me trouble and needs replacing soon. Very recently I have recieved what I think is malware or a scam. "Your phone is infected click here " also " you have won a prize" I cannot up date my iPad due to its age. Could old age of my iPad be the reason fot this ? I am taking great care not to click on anything I think is dodgy.
  4. Hi Sebby, I second the comments above re model building. It's is a wonderful and satisfying part of this great hobby. Have a good read and perusal of the plan before you start. Some are easy to follow, some assume you are allready a competent builder and will not provide all the info. The good news is that this is the best forum available with members very willing to answer all building and related queries no matter how difficult or simple they may sound. We have all started at the same point as you. If the Internet was around when I started to build and fly, I could have doubled the twenty plus models I have built from plans lol. To fly a model you have built yourself will give you a thrill that I cannot put into words. Good luck.
  5. Is Depron still available in UK, and how does its price compare with balsa and foam board ? Thanks

Wow, how is this achieved Richard. Has it some thing to do with blue tooth, as I know next to nothing about Bluetooth lol. Thanks

    New ipad

Thanks Frank. Does this also apply to other forums that I use ? It's an age thing lol. Cheers

    New ipad

Do I have to install this forum, or rejoin when I use my not yet arrived new iPad. Is there a correct procedure ? Thanks
  10. Keep em coming Cliff. Great video I enjoyed it. Quite some unseen skills by pilots taking off and landing in bad cross winds as indicated by wind sock. Cheers
  11. I agree with Geoff. I fly in Summer a venerable Super Scorpion. It must be directly into wind on take off, also normal practice of opening the throttle slowly must be discarded. Half to thee quarter throttle ( model being held back) is the order of the day to get some wind to operate the rudder. Any slight deviation and I am running around. LoL
  12. Hi Tony, cheating ? not at all. If you can utilise any thing to get a less stress full flight,go for it. Using flaps etc to I've better lift and slower landing speeds is not cheating. Using a gyro you can fly in a strong cross wind but without it you may have to go home without a flight. We have a run way that always has a cross wind. Taking off and landing always gives trouble, but ok once airborne. Always thought a gyro would come in handy in these conditions.
  13. I use another non modelling forum. This problem is the same on this non modelling forum. I always use an iPad to take and upload pictures. As mentioned above,by using iPad in landscape mode with button on rhs the orientation is correct always.
  14. Employers these days are like insurance firms, they will try all ways and tricks to get out of thier responsibilities. Cheers
  15. I'm, afraid these days employees are just a number, and loyalty only works one way. If they can get a robot or a machine to do the work they would get rid of you in seconds even if you had worked there for ages. A book I can recommend, "The ragged trousered philanthropist" one part was even banned years ago as it give the working class too many secrets as to how employers kept the means of production to themselves. Hope things turn up better for you.
  16. Hi all, is it me or am I the only one that thinks that the multirotor fad is on the wane. If so would it be down to the new rulings or just gone out of fashion. I used to see at least three or four being flown in local parks by youngsters, but not any more. It's possible that Covid has also had an effect on these fliers.

  18. Great video supplemented by some nice smooth flying. Keep it up Bjarne, top quality stuff as usual. Cheers
  19. Many years ago we had a club member who would always build a model that was far in advanced of his flying skills at the time. He either crashed or would ask another member to fly it. He turned up one day with a Gnatty. Egged on by fellow club members who should have known better he decided to fly it himself. He exelled himself and after a great landing announced "this was the best trainer he ever had".
  20. It surely does that. If you had waited a bit longer you might have had sun light glinting off the models wings. But then it wouldn,t be sunrise.
  21. Thanks both. At the moment I have I have nothing suitable for this idea. Soon I will be building Sid King,s Novice e, and if it it an easy mod may think about it on this model during the build. Do Bixlers have ply plate to incorparate the u/c clamp screws, or is it totally different ?
  22. Hi all. I am told one of the Bixler models has an u/ c that can be used as such or removed. This seems good idea for use on differing runways such as Tarmac, grass etc. Any one have any ideas of how to install this in a model other than a foamy.? The long grass on our pitch does cause problems with Rog sometimes.
  23. Wow, I did not expect those pics, things really have moved on. Your comparisons seem spot on FF. Pictures are one good way of changing perceptions, perhaps a vid. of these models inflight too ? Thanks
  24. Hi FFPete, I love all things model flying. Any pictures of the modern up to date models you speak of ? Non cabin type models I presume. Cheers
  25. I have a new laptop os Windows 10. Can any one recommend a sim that runs on this and would not break the bank. What interface would I require between Tx and laptop. Gearing up for the Winter lol.
