  1. If the room is high enough - and this is the case - you can also store smaller models ( her I mean less than 1.8m span or whatever your space is) assembled under the roof. Good for foamies, brings them out of the way and makes less hangar rush. I have posted this solution before as some of the readers may remember. I made a plywood bracket which can be made individual for every plane but it may also take a range of similar planes. Have a look as a photo describes it much better than text. this was in my garage in Italy some years ago, now I have a bit less space but I still have the foamies hanging as this is in my opinion a good way to store these delicate models. 2. Looks good - and is a bit higher than my man cave. So it has more overhead storage space (which is very important for wings but I store also wood sheets up there, laying flat on a support construction. Did you need planning permission for that? VA
  3. Fantastic film Mark, really entertained me for 1,5 hours! VA
  4. What a pity the Austrian didn't make it not enough nerves as it looks ... VA, Austrian department PS.: my brother, living in Graz, Styria, was happy enough to see it live
  5. what about Viertakt . . . ok, end of German lesson. Stoke comes from old english stoc, standing for place - this is what Wikipedia tells us. so probably four stoke is just a typo VA
  6. Joe has exposed my hidden talents Send me a PM countryboy and I have a look at it. No guarantee - specially if we speak about looong and deetailed instructions saluti VA
  7. Never had a problem. Use a weak starter and the flooded engine will rather stop the starter than break
  8. I use kitchen cupboards but can also sit as I have an adjustable office chair and a gap for it (No drawers, no cupboard) VA
  9. Peter Miller's CAP 20L probably not the easiest exercise but good looking. Nicely build it can decorate also your living room And I am sure it is interesting to fly it. VA
  10. well - forget all poor reports and buy the Proxxon saw! I have the older version (FKS), the main difference is that on the new one it is easier to clear out the saw dust. I absolutely love this machine and I have used it also for several tasks outside the focus of the modeller like cutting my oak floor boards in my new house. The quality of the cuts is great the blades last long and work also well on aluminium. The machine is stable, the table surface is machined aluminium, it is small enough to put it away easily, The parallel guide is precise, the noise is limited by a belt drive. I don't know what can be criticised. VA, table saw department
  11. Flies also nice that stuff. Link VA
  12. Said yes to always - not really true. Yes all my receivers are Spektrum DMS2 and I have a DX7 - but I added a JR transmitter to my selection VA
  13. Ca is unbeatable when it comes to building wings with balsa ribs. Of course the connection is hard not to say brittle but in many cases this doesn't matter. Never had any issues with the fumes - probably an open windows helps. VA
  14. Posted by Cuban8 on 22/09/2014 12:01:03: Yep, had a Dandy at about the same time, but had the optional power pod and Cox engine. Radio was a Futaba 2 channel outfit that cost an arm and a leg IIRC. A couple of clowns at the first club that I'd joined said that they'd 'help' me and proceeded to launch the model with the radio turned off Must have made a good job of building it because it flew OK and just circled close by and made it back down again when the motor stopped. I agree on the cost of the radio - when I purchased my own one - flew the Dandy with dads radio - in 1982 it was one monthly salary - gross of course (Simprop SAM-FM module system, with some extra money you could have dual rate, exponential or even a mixer!) VA
  15. Learned with a Dandy, a glider from Graupner. It was a "Schnellbaukasten" (fast building kit) which means that the wooden parts were already precut out of the sheets, but the building was of course not fast. I was flying this model in 1977, with a 27MHz Simprop radio. VA
