  1. I use the two batteries and two switch method on all my planes and have done for many years and thankfully I do as a couple of months ago I had a enolope nimh loose power from one battery (my fault )but the 2nd battery kept it going so if I didn't have two my lovely hangar 9 bf109 would be no more so I will carry on using two batteries steve
  2. my son wanted to take his A this year but after looking at these questions he has decided not to ,in fact he may well decide to give up flying ,that is how upset he is with these questions . If he does give up I will be asking for his membership money back from the bmfa ,He is a better flyer than probably 90% of our members and is very safety minded but this has realy made him think twice about flying .!!!!!! So a big well done to the BMFA on their encouragement to the younger flyers comeing into the hobby !!!!
  3. Ive got one of these spitfires ,it came from one of the facebook selling sites 3or4 weeks ago ,brand new unflown complete ready to fly except receiver and all for only £125 bargain, it is well made like all my other hanger 9 artf's and ive got a lot and never had a flimsy one and hanger 9 are known for higher end artf's.It has been out of production for a couple of years so will be hard to find new .The world models one flies well but looks nothing like a spit except the wings are slightly similar LOL
  4. I'm going to have a go at this ,it will be my first build so I will be using the complete pack ,but will also use hobbyking retracts as that is what looks like are the supplied ones anyway . Also motors and esc will be hobbyking as will the battery Just need to finish my new workshop before I can get started !
  5. We went on Saturday it was an ok show definitely nothing like the hop farm used to be ,very few traders and not much different with the flying displays . The model Lancaster ,TJD display team ,decathlons and the large yellow biplane (carnt remember its name )were great ,but most of the rest of the flying was pretty lame with the same pilots and planes over and over again . the full size spitfire landing and take off was good to watch as was the full size b25 display . Will I go again next year if its on ? Yes because I enjoy a day out with my kids and some of our club members and its only 19 miles door to door
  6. I went to the hernebay airshow yesterday ,full display from the reds ,Vulcan ,Eurofighter and bbmf ,rv8's and much more ,plus able to sit on the beach and promenade ,and only 10 minutes from home ,we were impressed
  7. Ordered mine Friday and also ordered the rockets from model rocket shop got some spare ignitors as well just incase 'make sure you get the correct rockets ,apparently some of them have built in parachutes 6 rockets in a pack for£14.99 and they have a five second burn
  8. Depends what artf im putting together something like a tutor trainer takes no more than an evening ,where as the longest ive taken was yt international p 38 which was around a week of evenings as was flyeagle f16
  9. I don't think you could go wrong with either of them the difference in power between a 91 fs and a saito 80 is not really noticeable when the model is flying ,mines got a 91 fs with no lead up front ,and I would imagine the saito 80 has very little lead if any also .
  10. Ordered mine from Euro ware house cos out of stock uk ,so should be here Monday steve
  11. Ive got 4 or 5 of these motors of various sizes some are a couple of years old all still working as they should be
  12. I like flying the wots wot ,it does what I want it to, the os 91 fs I find is perfect for it ,I balanced it as the instructions said but felt it was on the safe side so removed all the lead I had in it and now find it better ,my 9 year old son loves it and flies it a lot better than I ever could , I believe the covering is junk but for £129 I shouldn't complain ,but at least it keeps my covering iron in work. I have had the undercarriage off with the mounting plate but that was pilot error ,the plate actually snapped and didn't pull of the glue joint so I believe the kit is put together with plenty of glue . I had no issues with short linkage rods I used what came in the kit . my engine is inverted which I think looks better than side hung . id say buy one steve
  13. i have no idea why , mine also came from tjd's ,I got it launch day ,ill try and post photos when I work out how to
