  2. As I said to my daughter, just living through a bit of history.
  3. Does a charger/discharger perform a similar function.
  4. No, looking at the medium term forecasts for this end of the country. I suspect I have begun to chit my spuds a tad early.
  5. Bang on Cliff, they were erected to deter, stop or damage any enemy aircraft from using it as a landing site. Not sure how plausible it was for the Germans to land there but as you know Dartmoor played a big role in WW2 and a lot of D Day prep went on there, there aren't many flat places in and around Dartmoor that weren't already in use by the Allies so maybe it was a sound precaution. There was a temporary airfield near the Okehampton Range Camp long since farmed over.
  6. Some way off, odd thing is I've stood there numerous times. Next time you're up there, assuming you don't already know, have a guess at the purpose of the random vertical wooden stakes sticking up at various places on the plateau of Hamel Down. There is also an interesting memorial to a WWII crash site at the northern end of Hamel Down.
  7. I've been wracking my brains trying to work out the location. I've ruled out the North Moor so will hazard a guess at somewhere around the Buckfastleigh area.
  8. Watched it again and I may have spotted Les Moulster, he may have been the one sitting down with a flag . I was wrong about the fence I think. I forgot that you had to over the stile if you walked from the Beacon to Gallows Hill.
  9. KiwiKid, What a find, I remember Les Moulster from the Ivinghoe Soaring Association in the 80s I think. I might be wrong but the very first pilot shown flying looked suspiciously like the famous Mike Ellins. Could young Sean Bannister be there as well. Have to say that was one of the best videos I've seen all year, noteworthy was the requirement to have insurance and the scale of the event. That fence was definitely not there during my time up there. Just brilliant.
  10. Good call. It will encourage me to start my winter rc build.
  11. Seeing as it was on last night I'd suggest Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines.
  12. Hope you all have a merry, peaceful and fun Christmas and a wished for new year. TS2, please start your own miserable thread elsewhere.
  13. Love it. Santa has a hint of Tim Burton, very apt. Hope it doesn't come true !
  14. Using my fingers for the math, I now have a Phase 3....(6-2).
  15. "Volts Jolts, Mills Kills" . Can somebody please turn the power off.....
  16. Whilst the Zombie attack is a worry, Albert should be more worried about Pin Man running up the hill.
  17. I'm sure Mr Whittaker could select twelve of his best seasonal pics to make a great calendar.
  18. I didn't know there was a club at the North Pole, 😂 Now if you had a picture of your Wot 4 with skis sending up plumes of snow It would make a great December picture.
  19. I want 😘 🍺 I hope Lidl UK have them.
  20. Well maybe a bit presumptuous of me to suggest it being instead of a free plan but as a brand what a neat way of keeping its consumer aware of publication dates, key events with some great images to look at as you pass the year away.
