  1. How are th mighty fallen. Still a work in progress. Well done Ireland.
  2. Michael quite right, you were the only home nation to hold their heads up at the end. Might I reign my prediction in, Wales might win, but you got t gang on to that ovally thing. Don't you love predictive text. Edited By Donald Fry on 18/03/2017 15:35:33
  3. Cheers Colin but the things on the DX9, called left lever, rotary controls with just the edge protruding, with a fairly useless smooth ridge pattern. I was wondering I'd I could drill into it, epoxy a bit for fine gauge wire, and mould a epoxy putty lever into the wire. But I was hoping someone might have some alternative experience, or ant knowledge of the. Levers construction.
  4. Nigel Ron, don't get to confident with your predictions. A Guinness inside and they will fight anyone.
  5. Me again, I use the rear rotary dial for flaps. I find it a faff to find, is a bit stiff to rotate, and not a happy experience to use. I am thinking of attaching a protrusion/knob/whatever, to the dial so I can get a feel for where the control is, and move it with more ease and precision. Any previous experience out there?
  6. Mostly agree, but I reckon that Wales will do France proper. Bottom line, the jumbo pack is not a lot more effective than when Wales tried it in the Jenkins era. They are disheartened, tired, and I reckon need a bit more speed and staying power than they will have against Wales tomorrow. Mind, they may try to get fitter, but that is for next year. Sick with worry about Ireland already, but as Malcom Cooper said, if I'm worried, what do the opposition feel like. Mind the wheels lads.
  7. Quote from Chris Walby, "I think that's where very new pilots may find 8 minutes of absolute and continuous concentration rather tiring!" Grand Prix drivers have a rest several times a lap, and then reset for the next couple of corners. People can't concentrate for long periods. The training is to get little periods of good concentration to look like one continuous performance. We all have a habit. I take a breath in through my nose, and let it out through my mouth. 8. This sounds like a variation of a well known and regarded bit of sports psychology. In any precision sport, the coach seeks to keep the participant up to scratch. In shooting the mantra is, "the nut behind the butt is as good as the NEXT shot, not the LAST shot." In a more continuous sport, the coach seeks to split the performance, so the nut can win the next segment. This is the area in football called Furgietime, when the ex Manchester coach used to deliberately coach the side to seek to win the period at the end of the match, with famous results. So you are resetting your performance clock. I used to do it with my junior 60, except my reset was to put the tranni down and roll a fag.
  9. Do you balance charge Nimh batteries.? And a discharge cycle under load is a means of telling if it does what it promices on the label. Edited By Donald Fry on 16/03/2017 19:54:17
  10. Tigerman, once your confidence is gone in some kit, move on, you will never be happy with it. Whether you are right or wrong, or even if you have been mislead, it does not matter, move on. Life is too short for the hassle.
  11. I've contacted Pete in the past, about obscure pilots. A model of helpfulness
  12. An argument is an exchange of views and logic, not shouting at each other. We are now shouting. May your propellor remain unbroken.
  13. Edit: just confirmed with Frank, the Tx has failed, nothing to do with flight packs. So why did he not say so in the first place. And we are still without any information as to what the failure was. But as you say I am also out of here until the argument improves.
  14. Fair enough Phil, but the poster still does not give any information on the post. Therefore the argument is not advanced.
  15. Phil can I take you gently to task. You repeat an entry from a foreign site, posted by a bloke we know nothing of, never heard of before and who I suspect you don't know. He is also talking about a quarter scale warbirds. In my experience a DX 6 would struggle to operate such a machine, not enough channels for the chunky serves needed. So that comment seems to me, shoved in for dramatic effect, or he is in fantasy land. As Denis points out the post says nothing, apart from following a tradition being set up by their new President, say something controversial, get everyone talking about it, and then call for an enquiry because people are talking about it. I use Spectrum. I don't care much if is exposed as rubbish or not. I can move somwhere else, or stay. But I am interested in reasoned argument, and posts repeating posts with no factual content, merely an accusation does not move that argument forward. I apologise if this upsets. But I am a thick skinned old fart. Remember newbies read this thread.
  16. In my experience, reserves on E Bay end up costing you money, by not getting your customers on the hook and bidding. Valueing such an obscure kit is difficult. Shove it on at a quid, and see what happens. 10 day auction, finishing at 2000 hours on a Sunday. But be warned, it is nowadays an odd size, today the builder will convert to electric power (probably), and we builders are a minority. Your market is small. But such kits are not made much nowadays. Therefore your market is hungry. Good luck
  17. I always thought that local authority battery bins, and the recycling systems following behind do not care if the packs are discharged or not. Anyone have any knowledge?
  18. Not as expected. I hope Mr Jones is telling his lads that the Scots are dangerous, don't give up. Minute 29 refers.
  19. Here we go, sick to my stomach And Erf, last nights clash was a magnificent game of rugby. Most enjoyable is a service of a decent sausage with mash without lumps. You saw the Michelin star version last night.
  20. If you are not nervous John, it is a clue you died in the night, and are dreaming in another place. It will be good. I pray we have our thinking heads on today.
  21. Posted by Daithi O Buitigh on 10/03/2017 21:54:03: What's the penalty for kicking a left centre all round the pitch??????????????? It's getting the backlash from past performances. As we English, if we overcome the Scots, God willing, will face next week from your lot. Rest well, off to bed, me.
  22. Two scores, two scores, two scores, two scores.
  23. And, the try a few moments ago, was not grounded, I may be wrong, but the fool , I suspect, was satisfied with elbows to ground, not ball.
