  1. I have a larger version of the bird ( original and genuine EPP Eagle ). Its a great fun model, and has flown many hundreds of flights. Dihedral forms when its in flight due to the weight of the fus hanging off the wings, and steering via ruddervator is fine - if a little sluggish. You will need lots of throw on the surfaces. I also have the rudder plugged into aileron channel, but use a mix to the rudder channel so I can use either.
  2. As with all 2.4Ghz stuff, they will only "bind" with their own receivers. Your options are to either use the supplied tx, or exchange the reciever for a spektrum one ( my preference ). PS your post title is incorrect, it should be FMS Edited By Tim Mackey on 21/12/2015 08:11:04
  3. Its all about the prop then really - as you've already decided on motor (and ESC ). 6s will obviously increase the revs ( and the current and power if using the same prop as on a 5s ) and also the AUW. I tend to prefer larger cell counts on low kV motors as this keeps the amps down which is always a good thing. Also, be sure that your chosen ESC can handle 6s - many will consider this a high voltage and may niot be happy on that voltage.
  4. I know what you mean. My partner and I booked a holiday to gran canaria a few months back, and she said she wanted to go in January 'cos we would be fed up of the cold wet weather by then. I like to board the plane in the freezing cold wet Manchester weather and step off a few hours later into lovely warm sunshine. I fear we may be returning late January to winter. BRING ON THE WINTER. NOW
  5. Crikey, another old 'un revived ( the thread that is, not Ken LOL ) Re the parking fine thingy Ken - sure I posted the result elsewhere back in the day, but just in case..... RESULT! The mother and fatherless lot got not a single penny from me, and they finally caved.
  6. I'll spread the word for the 2nd Jan then - and sort the weather too of course
  7. Gutted at this terrible news today. Steve, you join far too many other departed modelling friends from recent years. My thoughts are with your family my friend. Sad day
  8. A few of the locals are up for it - 1st or 2nd of January - could do to nail it down really guys
  9. I'll likely be up for a Xmas / new year slope session guys - I'll try and get a few others along too 😆
  10. Carl - I have had to move 3 times in the last two years - albeit not far, but the distance is secondary, I still had a large pile of stuff to move, including the contents of a v large double garage / workshop with many many tools and so on. I counted 26 models the last time I moved, excluding the dozen or so still in boxes awaiting building. My local ( but I think maybe nationwide? ) favourite is a place called "Lock Stock" - a storage depot and van hire depot. Weekday rate for an almost new, very clean and reliable transit van is just £28 per 24 hour day. Yes, £28 ! I have used them many times over the last 4 or 5 years, and cannot speak highly enough of the service. I would also second the call on getting rid of stuff that hasnt been used for a while - de-clutter mate, its actually a nice cleansing feeling.
  11. This looked fantastic at our recent Orme meet - an inspiration for budding builders everywhere. Full marks to Steve for flying her on a less than forgiving slope too - you did a great Job Steve, 'twas a privilege flying with you mate

  14. Posted by Andy Meade on 27/11/2015 09:17:30: Hi Simon, If it's a SW (good winds forecast this weekend, but looks a bit wet too) then you want to head to "Marine Drive", which is a toll road around the rock. To get there, follow signposts for the pier, but don't park there. Carry on up the hill with the sea on your right shoulder. You will go under an arch where you can pay the nice chap for access, then pootle off round the road. After a wee while you'll see the "Rest and be thankful" café on your right (it's well signed, can't miss it), and just after that on the left is a turning known as the "Tank track". It's ribbed, so check your filling before going up! It winds a little way to the top, then you will see the hallowed grounds of the Tank Track Car Park. As you approach the car park, you are more or less driving SW - the main (and bestest) slope is directly in front of you. There is an old concrete structure that you can pit behind, and you'll also see a slightly lower shelf in front of you from here. Walk left and snake your way down to it. I'd reccommend launching from there if that forecast comes true - there will be epic lift and probably gusting 60mph+ on the ridge lip, which will be a bit dangerous for the EFX I'd wager. Launch from the shelf, walk back up to the top - enjoy! Oh, and get some photos Here's the shelf, with a launch : Who photoshopped me out LOL
  15. Simon, just drop me a PM before you plan a trip, and |Ill meet you up there. PM me your contact number.
