  1. just seen this for the first time. Surely it should have a receiver in it not a pilot
  2. Hi dave, I wanted to use air line because the clips hold it nice and firm. The antennas are placed where they may get disturbed when handling the model so having it placed in tubing will protect against knocking the antennas out of line . My only concern is it my cause interference if I take the tubing all the way to the ends of the antennas.
  3. Hi Denis, The clips are plastic. I was wondering if the tubing my cause a problem with reception in any way.
  4. I'm hoping to use 3mm air line tubing and clips to help route the two antennas on my JR RG1131B receiver. The simple question is, would it be ok to take the tubing all the way to the end of the antenna including all of the receiving portion?
  5. Thanks for the advice Dom, I will endeavour to put some of your tips into practice. The camcorder I have been using is a Panasonic HC W570. I'm happy with the picture quality and zoom but wish it had a through the lens eye piece. Do you intend to visit Cosford model show? If you are I expect I will see you working hard and look forward to seeing the results. Nev.
  6. Hi Dom, I always enjoy watching your videos and saw how hard you were working on Saturday to get these shots. I was tring to get some video shots of my own and so realise how hard it is with the fast moving stuff to keep them in frame. My camcorder doesn't have a through the lens eye piece so I struggle to view what I'm filming with the pullout screen. Would you recommend a camcorder with through the lens eye piece? Would it make filming any easier considering I wear reading glasses? Nev.
  7. Just returned home from WP and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed my day out. The weather was kind, the flying was skillful and a good variety of models, but, was I the only one who found the trade flags at the front of the crowd line a ridiculous idea? My video footage is now plane, flag, plane, flag, plane, you get the picture .
  8. Hi Dom, I always enjoy your jet videos and this one is no exception, please keep them coming. It would be nice to see the Hawk at the Nye Jets event this weekend, what's the chances? Nev.
  9. I started flying about 5 years ago and in that time have only put together and flown electric powered airframes (not that this for me isn't an achievement in itself), but, after viewing an RC Jet on YouTube I knew straight away that this was my new goal, to put together and fly an RC Jet . I knew this wasn't going to be cheap, quick or easy, I had a lot to learn. My Ripmax Xcalibur had its maiden flight on Saturday at Long Marston, this was the last JMA meet for 2015 and a final push in the last couple of weeks meant that I just managed to get her finished in time. I put my trust in Dave Wilshere to maiden her for me, after all, what Dave doesn't know about the Xcalibur isn't worth knowing. After a couple of peeps of trim she flew like she was on rails and I was offered the opportunity to have a twiddle on the sticks, WOW. I know I still have some way to go, taking off and landing her for starters, but I have actually achieved most of what I had set out to do, amazing. So, was all the time, effort and expense worth it, oh yes absolutely , I'd do it all again tomorrow, even the Mrs had a tear in her eye when she saw it fly for the first time. What a hobby!!! Thanks to Dave Wilshere (right) for all his help, advice and patience, oh yes, and perfect maiden.

  12. Excellent, thanks Phil much appreciated.
  13. Help, I have just bought one of these but there is no indication on the device as to where to connect the positive or negative wires from the battery. I'm happy with the wires to the motor but don't want to connect the battery to the terminals the wrong way round. Can the forum's electrical wizz kids please help. Nev.
  14. Luckily I'm off work that weekend but it clashes with Nye Jets weekend . Hopefully we have a good weekend weather wise allowing me to have a good day at each . Nev.
  15. I've used Leeds Model Shop several times and can't fault them, 5* service. Nev.

  18. My Xcalibur is slowly coming together, hopefully have it finished soon. It has been quite a steep learning curve but have really enjoyed the journey. I need to get my B Certificate so I really must knuckle down and get it sorted. Nev.
  19. Hi Simon, I enjoyed that video, only wish I could hear more of the Wren . I recently went to the JMA meet at Long Marston (Sun Mar 22nd) and Throckmorton (Sat Apr 18th), I kept an eye out for you but didn't see you, perhaps you were there on a different day, never mind there's always next time.
