  1. Posted by Pete Collins on 06/11/2019 10:48:29: Let's put it this way - I have 48 model memories in my Tx and there are only a couple of spare ones left. I have models suspended from the living room ceiling (very understanding wife), stored in the shed (mostly waiting for repair/servicing) plus a loft full. All this does not include quite a few unbuilt kits or a headful of ideas for models I want to build in the future - if I live long enough! You can't have too many model aircraft. The living room? 😮
  2. Do you set throws yourself? Didn’t Glen provide the numbers? Like you, I have a habit of setting the throws on the trans, however I read recently that it is much better to keep the trans set at 100%, and set throws using the control horns.... getting close to maiden 😉👍
  3. I often have the same issue with photos Bernd, it drives me nuts 😄
  4. The canopy looks great 👍 I think screws set it off nicely, and you’d get away without glue, just drill pilot holes and drop in some thin cyno to harden the wood.
  5. Posted by fly boy3 on 04/11/2019 15:09:07: Hi all, I have a heating boiler of 25year plus. (Thorn Emi Olympic 30/50B). When the wind blows pilot light out perhaps once may be twice a year, I am unable to light it again using the appropriate and safe method. My plumber has to visit to get it lit. He always re minds me I should get a new boiler, I do not agree, as boiler is fine bar the manual ignition system. Would there possibly be spares still out there, or an alternative. Main reason for not wanting to spend £2000 + on a new boiler is my age lol. Cheers ps my boiler is older than my plumber Edited By fly boy3 on 04/11/2019 15:12:32 👍. Same here. Old boilers just work, and everyone I have spoken to says new boilers are unreliable rubbish (being polite). We have it serviced occasionally and always carry one of the pilot light thermocouple things, because it’s the only thing that needs replacing.

  8. I’m into football rather than rugby generally but one of the things I like about rugby is the respect shown by the players to the refs, other teams etc.. i can’t comment on them taking off the medals, as I turned off after yet another penalty gift which took the game away from England. SA were great, but England never turned up. Perhaps they thought this would be a formality after beating the AB. Very disappointing performance.
  9. Posted by Bernd Lewerenz on 31/10/2019 08:29:55: Hi Martyn, The formers are not hand cut. They are from a laser wood pack. I am glad about every message or question. But I am not sure, if people are interested in building a simpel glider in wood. There are only a few requests.Thank you for your interest. Bernd I’ve been thinking about a powered glider....
  10. Did you find one Ben? I’m looking for some prop bolts and Toni Clark want £15 shipping 😡
  11. I’m stuffed (English) as my wife is from SA!!!
  12. Posted by cymaz on 25/10/2019 05:38:57: Try a Vanessa rig. This will indicate the CG. Then you can place the batteries on the airframe, readjust and see how much the CG point has moved Yeah, I’ve looked at them a few times, and the electronic scales that you can get, but it seems to be a bit of a faff. 😉
  13. Good idea Adrian 👍 one advantage of electric motors, you don’t have to worry about prop orientation!
  14. SInce you can already fly, a Wot 4 kit would also be a good choice and will take a wide range of power plants..

Was it the Dirty Dozen? Just looked it up, I believe it was Kellys Hero’s and he played Oddball !!! I was a massive Sutherland fan. Edited By Rich too on 20/10/2019 14:09:05

  17. Good progress Adrian, but you need to slow down a bit, I’ve been on mine for two years and counting
  18. Posted by Chris Walby on 20/10/2019 06:39:04: Why not make a battery cage on the fire wall that the battery slides into (with ventilation holes) that is retained by a ply cover (Nylon screw). Just make the cover slide and lock or secure in such a way the battery cannot be removed/fall out by accident. Batteries can be dropped out for charging, you don't have mess around trying to get your finders into the cowl get the Velcro secure. Nothing wrong with Velcro straps as long as you can get some reliable tension and ensure the battery can't slide. +1 comments about Velcro stuck to lipos damaging the battery covering. You can make a simple cage using Velcro, it’s a method I’ve used and I believe I came across on YouTube. You then glue, fix or screw the Velcro to the model.
