  1. I agree, and wouldn’t change the Kougar. The Moth looks interesting, you should post details.
  2. Nice progress Adrian. Are those servo arms the same on the two wing servos ? They are a different colour. I am just thinking about the matching  Edited By Rich too on 15/10/2019 20:13:15
  3. Posted by Jon - Laser Engines on 15/10/2019 14:08:04: Posted by Christopher Morris 2 on 15/10/2019 07:32:03: Do people not realise that if a customer walks into a shop & your on the phone, you say sorry to the person on the phone & tell them you will call back in a short wile as a customer has just walked in. Err, what? This comment makes absolutely no sense to me at all. If i, a customer, am on the phone to a company and they abandon me the moment someone walks in the door i am not going to be very impressed by that. Admittedly they could have excused themselves from the conversation for a few seconds to ask if you needed help, and then said 'ill be with you as soon as im done with this customer', but to expect them to disregard everyone else and leap up to greet you is not exactly realistic. If we assume however the shop acts as you suggest and ignores calls in favour of customers on the shop floor, we end up with a situation like the one Adrian had where he is now in a bad mood that someone didnt leap to his aid either. I cant blame him, calling a company and getting no answer is not a great experience, but its not always easy to juggle all the balls. As for websites, i know from experience that keeping them updated is a full time job and if you already have a full time job serving customers then the website suffers. That's why the Laser site has not been meaningful updates in about 6 years. Should i update the website or do what i need to serve customers? There aren't thousands running these places guys and its often not possible for the handful of staff available to keep on top of everything. I agree, but the shop owner must acknowledge the guy that has walked in the shop, and inform him that he will be with him shortly. Ignoring him (as in my LMS) is just plain ignorant and rude - and half the time I bet the person the on the other end of the phone is not a supplier or customer. You have to juggle them Jon, to keep everyone happy. I have a small business with limited resources too, so I know it is difficult. But if you have a website people expect it to be up to date - we pay an outside firm to do that for us. My pet hate is emails clients expect a swift response these days. I plan my day so that I always have a few coffees and go through emails in the morning. As a customer there is nothing worse than having an email ignored. If you are not going to answer them, don't bother having them in the first place!!

  5. Welcome back Jon Is there no chance of you taking over Laser? Seems the obvious solution, since it would probably sink without you..
  6. Posted by Christopher Morris 2 on 14/10/2019 07:47:22: The main reason i am looking at this, is that i am new to RC flying & was hoping this would help, just to get me going with a club instructor. "training wheels" But also the club i am joining is 98% Spektrum users & the Spektrum gyro's are a fortune in comparison. "Like a lot of Spektrum" Link to a manual for the super 3. I thought Bangood would be the best price, but ebay sells for around £25.00. Edited By Christopher Morris 2 on 14/10/2019 07:48:23 It should help. I fly from a place that is a challenge to land and quite a short strip, and I want mine to smooth things out on landing. If I had a nice big flat smooth field I probably wouldn't bother..
  7. I’m interested too. I have the Eagle Tree Guardian fitted to a model but not tried it yet.
  8. Hi John, on all my petrol models the ignition unit is generally mounted on the outside of the engine box, and the receiver and switch way back, near the wing tube. Never had interference...
  9. Jon, we recently changed to a similar phone system after 40 years with analogue that worked perfectly well, and our experience is the same as yours. Enjoy your well deserved break and best wishes to your mother.

The list puts Mr Tidy aged 75, most people nowadays retire at 60 or less so in my opinion he has put in a good innings. Mmmm, imho people are working longer, not less.
  11. Posted by paul d on 11/10/2019 20:55:42: no phone, no website, no stock and no one there? 'niche' product or not, bloody poor way to run (haha) a business. I am a big fan of the work Jon does and Laser motors but you can’t argue with that....
  12. Posted by john stones 1 on 09/10/2019 22:10:26: Typhoon threatening England and Scotlands game, hope they get it sorted venue wise, be no game to watch and a disaster for the Scots as a draws no good. Typhoons called Hagibis, similar to Haggis but brings more wind. They have to play the Scotland game, otherwise it will be a farce.
  13. Irrelevant for me KC, my love if the Kougar is pure nostalgia.
  14. Sub’d i have a particular interest as I built and flew one in the eighties - bought back from a holiday in Florida. As you say, a great flying plane. I’ve been tempted to buy another ....
  15. Posted by kc on 06/10/2019 17:47:19: If you are back after 40 years you probably used dope and tissue in the past - now heat shrink film is common. However there is now a modern type of non flammable, low odour dope called EzeDope which might be worth trying. Cheek, I was using film 40 years ago
  16. Posted by bert baker on 06/10/2019 08:42:38: To some degree if the wings are fitted to a none adjustable wing seat, as long as it’s built reflects the plan then it should fly as the designer had intended,, I like many others have built loads of planes from plans and kits and never had any incidence meters. Yes they were available, but there were limited ones available back then Does look like same thing is true today. Same here, never used one in forty years and rarely had a poorly flying plane. I guess if I were into competition flying I might use them. Edited By Rich too on 06/10/2019 09:36:41
  17. Mmmm, that’s not good. I don’t think I’ve ever had an issue like that on any model. Have you contacted Glen ?
  18. I like the square tubing to keep the sheeting straight. Is there the option of a two piece wing? You've got me looking at getting one of these, as you never know how long they will be available.
