  1. Hi Cymaz, You could try any aircraft museums in your locality.
  2. I hope you haven't used those vulcan-ised rubbery cheddar slices
  3. They are definitely American size 1/4-20 UNC and not metric. I bought the white ones from Model Fixings for my Epioneer and they fit.
  4. Yep, they are talked about on page 7 of this thread. Seem to remember cutting mine down to size and giving the ends a slight chamfer.
  5. I can't check as I am in France at the moment but I think that they are the 1/4-20 UNC thumb screws which I got from model fixings.
  6. Ha ha, yes Ernie we had noticed! Travelling all day yesterday and are now in our tiny abode in the Meuse (55), in a very small village 30 km north of Verdun. Sun is shining and very little wind so perhaps a bit of flying later.   Edited By Bob Bertram on 18/03/2016 08:35:37
  7. Thanks both and especially Pete for the chart link, really useful. Looks like I am just outside the RTBA north of Verdun, and yes they come over the village once in a while at 250ft. The choppers from Etain come through the valley at 50 ft but you can hear them a long way out so have plenty of warning. Sante Bob
  8. Hi Pete, thanks for that, it makes it all very clear. I didn't know of the 50m rule in low flying areas which is were I will be. I have probably broken that rule with my eglider in the past! I have only recently found out from charts that the base for the big guys is 200m but does not seem to be used that often. Will have to be more careful.
  9. Thanks David, I get the impression that this local chappie is a bit of a whinger and doesn't particularly like the Brits, or anyone else come to that, and was just trying to annoy me. I will be in the Meuse (55).
  10. I go to France quite a bit and normally take one or two models with me. Last time I was there, (Oct 15), I was told by one of the locals that I needed to be registered with the police. Also, I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can use the full strength signal on 2.4 now. As I am soon to leave these shores for a few weeks 'en France', can any of the Ex-pats enlighten me. I will have a couple of aircraft and a quad this time.
  11. How about a Zlin Trener with the tandem canopy? Doesn't seem to have been modelled much. Simple fixed u/c and aerobatic. Lots of colour schemes on the 'net. I would clear my bench for one.
  12. I lost a plane for two weeks a couple of years ago!! and used Franks method. I am still using that battery.
  13. I could just be tempted by the piston Provost, other colour schemes available from Burma, Oman, Ireland , Malaysia and Sudan. Nice video Piers.
  14. I put a fixed wing 'A' in the poll and much to my surprise I achieved it on Sunday. Many thanks to all the Waveney club members who stood by me and freezed their thingies off whilst I described some unusual manoeuvers in the sky in practise for the event. 15. Here are a few of my favourites, all 60 to 72 inch span and preferably leccy: 1. Piel Emeraude 2. Robin DR400 3. Twin Pioneer 4. Cosmic Wind I could go on all night! Provost sounds good as does the Yak 12.
  16. Thanks for the response Jim, I saw 'XT up at Breighton a few months back and it is on my long list to do (plus finish one or two projects already on the go). Bob
  17. Hi Chris, Have a look at the Jivaro website, go to the plans page and scroll down to the Dusty Crophopper page. Plenty of photos and he seems to be using UHU Creative and a Sader PU outdoor wood glue which should be available in Belgian DIY stores. The site is French so you shouldn't have a problem. Will try to post a link. Sante Bob http://www.jivaro-models.org/dusty_crophopper/page_dusty_crophopper.html
  18. Many thanks GeeW and Robin you seem to be spot on. As Pegasus is only about 24 miles away it is not surprising that it is one of their kits.
  19. I have acquired this leccy powered glider recently and wonder if anyone has an idea of what it is. 6ft span and powered by what looks like a Speed 600 brushed motor with a rather heavy 7 cell battery pack. Any ideas greatfully received.
