Hving been at Barton, and witnessed the tragic demise of the last flying Mossie, its great to see one back in the air again, she is to be crated up, and shipped to a flying museum n Virginia, in the states, i just hope they apreciate this british designed classic, but thats not all, Kermit Weeks ex stathallan one is flyable, but hasnt since the ferry flight--Hmm, too many toys and not enough time me thinks Kermit, then there is another new build, i think, again, in New Zealand, can you imagine a pass with 3 of these superb wooden wonders???? -

Contact Bobs hobbies, in Orlando, Steve is a mate of mine, and a Brit, he stocks Robarts, just find the number for what you want, and leave it to him, even if you get to pay duty, they will be cheaper than you can get here, and the speed they get here will surprise you, you may want, while you are at it, more american goodies, Steve will sort you out -
sounds like you like built up structures, DB sport and scale have been mentioned, and also cutting your own parts, with DB, there is the best of both worlds, they can offer plan packs for some of the older designs, and kits for the newer, more popular ones, check out the DB skyrider& ghostrider series, lovely builds, and great flyers

if you can get them in, but a few paper clips over the boards, to take the heat away, get your self a solder sucker, and go for it, done loads, no bother, but of you have to buy solder sucker, that is probably the worth of the receiver

Vulcan tour Sat 29th Sept
Alan Cantwell replied to Chris Bott - Moderator's topic in All Things Model Flying
Jon, XM 603 at woodford is in a dirty state, over the winter, we are going to put her on wing jacks, remove her wheels, take off the braking system that is ruined, but stopping her moving, pump up the tyres, just to get the shape back, then fill them with tyre foam, this is to let us tow her to the flight sheds, to get her jet washed and clean, this is where the heritage museum will be, the area she is in now is going to be a demolition site soon, as the area is prepared for the luxury housing estate that is to be built, also, a third of the runway will be going, once thats gone, then we wont be able to shift her, most folk in this game have a winter project, whet do you think of ours? -
Both from Oldham, i think either Blackburn MFC OR Bury metro is your closest club,

She did Woodford a few weeks ago, I was on the airfield, shame she did not nip across to where the her major sub assemblies where built--chadderton, do you know, Avro had a set route for aircraft sub assembly journeys to Woodford from Chadd? on certain roads, the lampposts had swivels on them to clear the room needed, sadly, not a one has been preserved, Edited By Alan Cantwell on 28/09/2012 23:09:11 -
Totally agree with Patmac, and it could make a half decent model, as long as the structure is ok

it will be dry as a dry thing by now, first thing is to get the innards going round, put some fuel in it, take the plug out, , fit a prop, and just work the fuel in, this will desolve any fuel residue in the innards, and hopefully, the bearings, if it wont turn, let us know, then, plan b

Hurricane information wanted
Alan Cantwell replied to the unmagnificent man's topic in All Things Model Flying
now youve got me, are you the Alan who had the wellington? Alan in littleborough does not fly any more, he got tired of waiting for a field, that still has not arrived, and now he has eye trouble, so cannot fly anyway, Oldham fly on a site behind oldham park, its not ideal, but it suffices, the club chairman, Jon Laughton, is on here, they are hoping to get back on the peacotes area soon, but i see problems, the council shafted them good and proper, or should that be shafted us, for i was in the club then, the attic is still full to the brim, as is the garage and bedroom, i have a fed up, but forgiving wife, they are my toys, she doesnt go near them, but walk into our gaff, and you would not believe there are 90plus aircraft stashed!!! -
thats a lot of time innit
