  2. I had the e mail but ignored it so far.
  3. Another one off the production line...Dynamic kit re painted....

  5. I would try BALPA first......they may well be interested.
  6. Posted by Michael Little on 04/08/2017 11:10:27: Thanks for the advise, i have got some Z-Poxy 30 minute epoxy from a friend now who have me about half full tubs but after reading this I'm thinking i may be better off using Alphatic glue as this seems the preferred method nowadays? and rob sorry do you mean you used the Z-poxy to join the flat foam surfaces together before epoxying on the fibreglass along the join on the wings? I used slow set epoxy to join wings at root and then used z poxy and bandage to wrap the wing on mine.
  7. Posted by Rob Tothill on 02/08/2017 23:53:38: Hi Michael, I'm just building an Acrowot too. It's only my fourth build so I'm not very experienced. I joined the wing halves with 30 minute epoxy, and then once joined used skinning epoxy to apply the bandage, which seems to have worked well. I did find that the tips and roots of the wings were not perfectly aligned, so I spent a lot of time taping the two halves together and marking up to ensure the tips were lined up before I joined the two halves. I then had to fill the surfaces at the root a bit. That is what I did with Acrowot a few years back with Z Poxy - not flown it yet ...lol. Interesting to know that other glues can be used though.
  8. Ok chaps - careful sanding with a mouse thingy - It is RC Paints to match the Profilm. I just wondered as paint stripper these days isn't like it used to be in the days of Polycell. Just need to clean up enough to prime and re- coat.
  9. Need to strip paint from glass fibre cowl...ok to use Nitromorse or will it affect the glass fibre gel coat?
  10. I have just started flying again after a break and using 35mhz at present ( Twin Star as Red Eagle) no problems but have decided to move towards 2.4 max as I had bought the module for Hitec 6 some years back...baptism of fire trying to get Tx and Rx to talk to each other.....see thread ....lol but decided of flying I/c models I needed more peace of mind. 11. Motor end is possibly the most difficult part to do - mine was very thin when it was finished. Lovely aircraft to fly though - worth the effort.   Edited By Mike Stevens on 25/07/2017 19:08:55

  13. Yes! - sorted - now bound and working ok with both Rx's - all I need to do now is programme the fail safe - going in - wish me luck. Thanks for all the input chaps - now in the 21st century
  14. Sooooooo, Brand new Optima Rx arrives today - same result - nothing but same result as previous one so I guess I can rule out the Rx? - Would the Tx module go faulty - it has only sat about in the back of my Tx for last 4/5 years and not been used until now.............very frustrated.
  15. Got my WOT 4 out of the loft recently to get back in flying condition. It has some small ripples in the pro film along side of fuselage which if i try to smooth with an iron blow up with air trapped inside - so best way to treat - small pin hole in each and then iron with coolish iron to smooth out? 16. Thanks Ian - servo ok as i changed for another. I think I will try as you say and return the original to supplier as possibly faulty.
  17. Hi Ian So it appears that the Tx side of things is fine just can't get a blue light on the Rx along with the red LED apart from a very brief flash. I will try adding a switch into the process to see if that is an issue. If I have the Tx in bound mode and then un-plug power to the Rx and plug power in again i get a a reaction from the servo in that it moves very slightly but stick inputs have no effect at all. If, with a switch in the circuit there is no change then can only assume faulty Rx - also noticed that if power left on to the Rx it does become warm to the touch? 18. Dear Ian Many thanks for your extensive and detailed response.. I have printed a copy and will persevere. Just wondered if I might have a dodgy Rx. When i bind, I get steady red light on Tx. I have been using a servo in the Rx. When I press the bind button on Rx I get flashing blue light on Tx along with steady red. THe Rx lights up red and I get a very brief flash of blue when plugging power in - I have been plugging Rx battery into mthe receiver so would I be better using a switch to power it up.? definitely not bound though as no response to Tx controls. Will let you know how it goes. again - many thanks. Annoying thing is that I have another Optima Rx somewhere that came when I bought to module but can' for ewwth lif e of me find it.
  19. I did my Catalina recently free hand and just blended one into another...will posta pic but if not true scale doesn't look too bad.
  20. Never defeated.....I think I have now managed to update the Tx module to latest firemware yaeeeeee. Still not binding.......so tried to see what Firmware is in the band new Rx - not in the drop down menu of HPP 22 software -aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!
  21. Now getting seriously hacked off - received HPP 22 and plugged in and I just get message on laptop software that Tx not connected. Tried all sorts of combination of connections and button pressing............ Just to review I have an old ish Spectra module in a 35 Mhz Optic 6 It doesn't have jack connection but the old DIN socket. I understood that you could plug the HPP 22 into back of module with servo lead? Do I need to upload old versions of HPP 22 software as the Spectra module and Optic 6 are not even listed in the drop down menus of the software I have dwonload from Hitec site - am i doing something wrong. Have cehcked You Tube but all seem to relate to the Aurora Tx not the Optic 6.............................heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp please .......................................Ken..................lol Only other option would be to make up a connection for my trainer lead into the Hitec jack connector but didn't think this would be necessary? Many thanks Mike Edited By Mike Stevens on 20/07/2017 18:05:13
  22. Thanks Ken Fairly sure it is a firmware issues as my Tx module is a few years old and probably not running latest version so will plug and play when module arrives. I am following the process from manual and You Tube but no joy.
  23. Thanks for replies - no it doesn't - suspect Firmware issue so will wait until my HPP 22 arrives and check upgrade Edited By Mike Stevens on 15/07/2017 08:55:18
