Hangar 9 nut

I want to replace my tired OS 46sf with a new OS,but I have a problem as the old one is rubber mounted via a plate that is screwed to the back plate of the engine via the 4 back plate screws so I need to know what new OS 46 has the same crankcase as the old engine.A new OS 46ax would be good but not sure on crankcase size ! It must be an engine that will run on a tuned pipe ! ...............or if anyone has an OS 46sf I can buy ! Edited By Hangar 9 nut on 28/12/2014 21:22:53

That engine is a fourstroke car engine quite rare,they normally have a fan on the flywheel to cool them but you haven't so beware !

Will get there next year hip and knee should be fine by then just built a Bullitt and acquired a Loaded Dice !

CG of bullit is 83mm from leading edge at wing root !

I would of said it is to lean,you could also check the tappets also wooden props are sometimes to light for four strokes but you don't say what type of prop

Hangar 9 one for me does both petrol and glow had it a year now !

Its response time of transmitter to receiver that is quicker so it would seem the servo is quicker as reaction time is quicker

I don't know what happens but you should not use analogue servos at 11ms I think it might burn them out or they would glitch all the time

They are difficult to do,if you reverse any channel you have to put it back to normal before programing my friend took ages to get it right!

Midland helicopters do them Chris !

Mr B and Steve c thanks very much so any engine heavier than a Saito 82 and you might have to add weight to the tail !

Our club had a talk by Dave Wilshire and all what you have said he covered in his talk your plane is as safe as the weakest link cheap switches cheap servos and cheap leads are all to easy to buy but we all have lots of money tied up in our planes switches are the most common he took one apart in font of us and you would not believe the way they are put together.So hope this has not made you feel worse but he has made me look at what I use. sorry for your losses Willy hope you recover !
