Hello Jon, Reference my question re my Laser 80 quitting mid air, I see that your response to my question and my reply have mysteriously dissapeared from the post. So here is my answer again:- Prop. A Super 14x7 plastic, it is heavy. Plug, OS F. Quitting, intantaneous, running at around three quarters thottle. I have never put a tach to the motor. The last plug lasted about seven or eight flights, the previous one, a similar amount.. The motor has not had that may flights, possibly around fifty or sixty flights. The tank is pressurised, and the centre point of the tank sits around 8 mm below the carb. Thank you

Hi Jon, Purchased my Laser 80 approx three years ago. Probably hasnpmore than fifty flights or so' Earlier this week it dead sticked. Checked the OS F plug, the bottom coil not lighting up. Replaced it with a new OS F and richened the mixture slightly, and no probs. Four more flights the next day. Yesterday, on the third flight, same thing, dead sticked. Any ideas please.

I started flying power assisted gliders back in 1991, living in Norfolk and flying solo from home, this was the only realistic choice. Scale jobs up to four and a half metres, down to 50" built up gliders. Had many wonderful flights, and much thermaling. That was fun, when high up circleing in a thermal, a bird of prey or two some times would fly across to join in.. Sometimes it was the other way around. Cuban 8, I would thoroughly recommend the Bird of Time to you. I purchased a kit (Don`t go near the ARTF) by Dynaflite around for years ago for 99 Euros. It is a lovely aeroplane to fly, powered mine with a 36mm x 48mm inrunner, 10x6 prop, and if I remember correctly draws around 46 amps on a 2200mah 3S graphine which just about squeezes into the nose section. Set the timer for 2` 20" which leaves 30% in reserve. She termals in the lightest of lift, so most of my flights are around one hour. I that is usual with less than two minutes of run time, and leaving themals early. So, electric assist gliders suit meand even on my scale Discus, using a white Aeronaught spinner and prop, it still kooks like a pure glider. There is no right nor wrong, it really boils down to what suits you. Horses for courses.

I built a model of an SRN1 in 1959 at the young age of twelve years, having seen the original at the Earls Court boat show. I designedit it as I went along. Built out of balsa and powered by the venerable Mills 75 swinging an 8x4 wooden prop. Ran it on the road outside the garden. Gave it a gentle push and it fairly wizzed along over puddles and all. a couple of motorist stopped to take a look. It was very light, which I feel helped a great deal with sprightly performance. The two thrust boxes on top were fairly ineffective

Spektrum SAFE or Low rates
Robert Putley 1 replied to P J Hearne's topic in Electric Flight for Beginners
i you flew in the past, you will find that it is like riding a bycicle, you don"t forget. However, low rates would be a good idea. -
Dennis, just seen your post. Checking the monitor had already occurred to me too. I find if you sleep on a problem, it normally works. On checking the monitor, the giro switch on channel five was in fact some how programmed into the throttle channel. The travel was very small and therefore had no effect. Throttle cut is on switch A and all is OK. I decided to try aux 1 to see what would occur. Toggled various switches and found that switch...R knob was allocated to that channel. Plugged the Lipo into the model and they Presto, I have SAFE at my disposal...for launching the Model a la HH video, AND the normal giro. Not an ideal switch, but it will do for the time being. So, many thanks for all the suggestions.

I assume you mean from 100% to the max, not 10 toggles as opposed to five

I have a new Eflight F15 jet. Bound it to my DX9 on the SAFE setting. Works OK. Next step was to assign a switch to enable SAFE to be turned off. Followed the instructions, both sticks at bottom and moved inwards to towards each other. Then toggled the designated switch (B) up and down five times, to no effect. Have tried this numeric times, even trying a different switch, but to no effect. SAFE IS permanrly on. What am I doing wrong

I purchsed an MDS 18 r/c some years ago. I recently built a Mini Super for this and it flies well. The motor is powerfuland nicely balanced. Problem is it does not run consistently .Yesterday I noticed after starting up, fuel flowing around the N/V O ring. Question...Is this a general problem, and is it possible to obtain a replacement?

I had a School Master powered by an OS Pet R/C. A nice looking model for its day. Flew really well too.

Exactly my own thoughts Frank. if the worst came to the worst. Den could install an expensive servo reverser on one of the Y leads

Radio, servo malfunction
Robert Putley 1 replied to Robert Putley 1's topic in General Radio Discussion
Doc Martin, that scenario sounds quite feasible. Friday, I ordered four new servos, different brand, different outlet. Thanks to everybody for the feedback.
